she's so good, that i'm sure she's bored and wants to get to the olympics.
the shite she does is so athletic,, that she can miss a little and still finish on top, because of the difficulty her dealios are.
Wife was watching the shite 2 weeks ago, and she wasn't great on the beam, and because of the difficulty, she scored on top and no one was close.

Simone is a freak of nature and probably the most talented of all time, but you have to think, to be the greatest of all time you can’t struggle with the mental side of the sport so much. Imagine MJ or Gretzky dropping out of the NBA or Stanley Cup finals because of the “pressure of the game.”

Problem is they dont handicap MJ and say every point they score only counts for a fraction and you can only score by performing moves your peers can't.
I'm sure the pressure of having to reinvent the sport or do more ridiculous shite every time to even get your score counted can be insurmountable. Like literally almost every headline in her most recent events include the words "record breaking."
Not to mention she's been dominate for like nearly a decade at a far younger age and MJ didn't even win his first NBA Finals until he was 28. Don't think you can compare the two.

How much of this is because the gymnastics program has been a shite show for years between the Nassar molestation issue and turning over large swaths of the governance board and trainers as a result?
I think they finally chased out Bela Karoli for being abusive when he has had success getting the best out of gymnasts since the 1970s.

These gymnasts are tough as nails, but they all harbor the fragile psyche of the 6 year old girl tumbling for the first time.

It probably hasn’t helped.
But pressure gets to folks. While he didn’t pull out mid-competition, Michael Phelps had suicidal ideation and was trying to drink himself to death from the pressure of being the GOAT in US swimming. In 2014 it was so bad he went into treatment for it.
Tom Fields, who won Gold in swimming in Rio and is back in Tokyo, had a full on suicide attempt from the pressure. His wife found him in time.
