Media driven. UM just needs him to be solid.

Because UM hasn't had a QB worth a shite and a stout defense.

Because UM QBs threw 9 TDs last year. Shea threw 24.

/story.

Because ESPN needs something to justify the hype surrounding the overrated, overhyped, overpaid, under performing Harbaugh. By playing up the “he never had a QB” storyline and that Patterson is the savior they buy themselves another year of hype train.

He's thrown 23 in his career. He's overhyped but he's got more potential to do something than the other scrubs UM has been running out.

Shea will need to be better than "solid".
Notre dame.
Road game at nw easiest of 6 tough ones.
mich st.
Penn st.
Ohio st
and eventually wisconsin in champ game.

10-2. 9-3. Some of that.

I think being solid is good enough. Their defense will be nasty this year.

Patterson is going to be under center for Michigan. That's a huge adjustment considering he was always in the shotgun at Ole Miss. It's going to be hard for him to live up to the hype this season.

Not sure. I thought the backup played much better than Shea last year.

Ta’amu isn’t looking too bad today. Maybe it’s Ole Miss’s offense and not Patterson that’s good...

Will never forget how bad Shea was against LSU last year and Ta’amu comes in and tears the d apart.

Not surprising considering Ta'amu is being tauted as a first round draft pick in next years draft.

He’s a solid QB but isn’t a special player like people thought back in his recruitment. He wasn’t going to be starting at Ole Miss this year and found the best chance he has at winning this year. I think the national media didn’t watch Shea play last year. He isn’t a NFL QB.

He’s solid, but who the hell is hyping him up that much?

He gets rattled and he’s done

Beautiful touch on his passes, but crunch time ain’t his bag

I think Ta’amu will get drafted after this year but he has a long way to go to be a first round pick.
