If they think one of the top 3 guys can be a better qb than fields in the long run I still think they should take him then get what they can for fields.

Fields was great piling up rushing stats for fantasy football but still seems pretty crappy as an actual nfl qb.

Is this today's sports journalism?I was thinking the same thing Someone at ESPN shares that a team with the 1st pick in the NFL draft can trade it for lots of picks(no shite). Then someone at NBC Sports reports this groundbreaking news and comments “gee golly, wowzers big news if true!”

And then someone post it on a message board like it's news

I clicked this thread hoping for some details, at least some speculation of the haul

If you talk to any life long Bears fan they will tell you the cheap arse Mcaskeys will screw it up.

Bears GM will probably find a way to screw this up, despite the pick and cap space.

His supporting cast was absolute garbage. The potential is still there with him.

It's insane how much more valuable this years first pick is compared to the Jags last year.

No good QBs in last year’s draft

He seemed a bit below average this season as a QB, but his rushing stats made him slightly above average I would say. His bottom of the barrel OL and WR core didn't help.

Personally I agree if you love one of the 3. However, I would probably use this draft to shore up other pieces, see what Fields can do if you give him some talent on offense, then go from there. If he's not good, you still have a number of guys on rookie deals in 2 years, then you move on from Fields
