I actually agree on this one. OSU, Nebraska and Iowa should just schedule games and play. Call the Big 10s bluff. What are they gonna do, kick OSU out? Not in this lifetime.

I mean this should have been the plan a month ago; now who the hell are they going to play?

OSU isn't leaving the B1G and shouldn't do so, and people ranting and raving about them failing are being shortsighted. You don't go against your own conference often because of the old 'hand that feeds you' adage. I would like to think that OSU could go independent and be fine, but no reason to do so when you have a group of schools that have long histories of academic and athletic successes.

2020 is a weird year, but there's no way that OSU was going to be invited to the SEC Big 12 or ACC. People can say what they want, but no way would those 3 conferences want OSU there.

OSU's only shot is to pressure the conference to play 8 games and see what happens.

They should protest and join the SEC for the season. If the NBA players can protest and do what they want, why cant the football players?

See I think that same excuse is also shortsighted. Look, do you want to play or not? That’s the question. If yes, then you exert the most amount of pressure as possible, which includes threatening to leave the conference. Flex your muscle and throw around your weight. Ohio St has played Texas, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech all in the last 20 years. Ohio St has a series home v home against Texas in a few years. The foundation is there. Ohio St could leverage that. The Big 12 would 100% welcome Ohio St to the conference and that’s why they should be using against the B1G. The reality is that Ohio St is being soft in the name of “unity”....which ironically is being used against them by the rest of the conference. It’s a joke.

Time is running out. You have to think if nothing is definitively made by next Friday then it's off.

It needs to happen by Monday or it ain't happening.

The NCAA requires 29 days of camp before competition can occur. They aren't waiving that.

You also need time for players to get on campus if they aren't already there.

I think everyone agrees that this weekend will decide what the B1G does.

The real danger is having the B1G do something stupid with the Pac-12 for early in 2021 and then jeopardize the 2021 fall season for the conference.

Ryan Day literally says in the first sentence “while I understand the B1G decision to postpone fall sports”.....well why was that coach? He then goes on to say they are confused by the information? Which is it coach?

Lol if you think that statement was 100% Day’s words. That got wordcrafted by some a comms team.

And the first show has dropped, 1st round Guard prospect Wyatt Davis declares for the NFL draft:

: "It's very bittersweet. It's tough. I came back to win a national championship, and with the season just getting pushed back and pushed back and no communication from the commissioner, my family and I thought it was best to take the next step."

Thanks, Kevin. Stellar communication skills.

Thanks Ohio St, President Johnson and Gene Smith for nothing. They’ve done NOTHING to put pressure on the B1G...NOTHING. All they’ve done is make twitter statements. The reality, is behind closed doors, they’re in agreement with thr B1G political decision to postpone football. Don’t just blame Kevin Wareen. What has Ohio St really done to advance their stance? Again...NOTHING.

You have no proof of that, and that's actually contrary to Ryan Day's State to yesterday. It's clear they are trying to keep everything in house and not blow this thing up and ruin the possibility of a mid-October start.

Ok, then prove to me what they’ve actually done? I’ll say this AGAIN...if Ohio St REALLY wants to play, then we will. Period.

The program just needs to say they are not participating in any football season until 2021 if a 2020 season doesn’t start in mid-October.

Big Ten would lose a ton of money from Ohio State sitting out of whatever bullshite season they announce.

We'll Ryan Day and Gene Smith were members of the Return to Competition Committee who put forth the proposal that the Presidents and Kevin Warren and now reviewing. Without that push, a chance for CFP eligibility would be zero.

And then you have Ryan's public comment that go against your point.

If you really want to blame someone at Ohio State for this, it's probably frick stick Michael Drake. I'm sure he was all on board with cancelling on his way out because he gave zero fricks about Ohio State football.

You just proved my point for me. Ohio St could EASILY say that...but they haven’t. All they’ve done is make twitter statements. The fact is, Ohio St brass doesn’t want to play. Kristina Johnson was “allowed” to “vote” yes to playing, to cover her arse. She knew the fan base would have her fired if she voted no. Her “voting” yes was a formality.

Return to competition committee...lol. How’s that going? Lol Ohio St doesn’t need a committee to play football. We ARE the committee!

Going scorched earth doesn't solve this problem. It would alienate the few partners we have pushing for the October start.

I'm holding out some hope for that, but I do believe Day and Smith won't go along with any football that doesn't give us CFP eligibility. It's not worth it.

The fanbase has zero influence over the hiring and firing of the university president.

How do you know going “scorched earth” won’t solve the problem...we haven’t tried it!!! The ONLY thing that is factual up to this point, is we aren’t playing. Time to go “scorched earth” if you ask me. frick the rest of the memebers...because that’s what they’ve said to us!!

You're freaking out over playing football in 2020 when there has been a worldwide pandemic that the media has run wild with.

You only threaten to leave the conference if you are willing to go through with it and leave if they call your bluff. We aren't flying to Texas Tech every year annually to play basketball and every other year for football.

It's not an excuse. It was handled poorly but there are no options outside of playing/not playing with the B1G now.

Ohhhh the pandemic....riiiiight. I’m 100% willing to leave the conference, whether that be independent status or a new conference all together. That’s the difference between us.
