But can one get excited about the throws he made?

Certainly. And you can get excited about the stats too if you think they are noteworthy.

Damn gumps are as defensive of Jones and LSU fans are of Burrow.
Very little objectivity.

Not a bad thing. Perfectly fine first game.
But 68% completion percentage with a 6.7 ypc is nothing to get excited about.

Reading stats for these things is pretty silly. He was a bad call and a bad drop away from being 15-19 for 146 yards and a TD.

Now again those stats mean nothing because it’s preseason, but he overall command of the offense was a good sign. They ran no huddle and he was checking at the line and making audibles and protection adjustments, which is well ahead of the curve for that. Another good sign for him is the way they let him play with the starting unit for 2 drives and the way they tailored the offense to him when he came into the game. Which signals they are very aware that he will start for them at some point this season, just a matter of when.

Don’t let Mike Greenberg see this thread. I heard him this morning and he says that Wilson is better than Brady…..

That INT was awful though. He's a work in progress.

well i mean how often do you think they've gone live at Saints camp so far?

probably not much.

He got blasted right after he threw it.

his protection wasn't there (nothing fancy about that blitz).

I thought the sack he took was the worst play. If nothing is there throw it away! But he was trying too hard to make something happen.

Max Kellerman is also saying that this could be the best QB class of all time.

Slow down, Mr. Hyperbole, they’ve played one preseason game.

I thought Trevor Lawerence did fine, but as a Jags fan watching the rest of our team.. our starters vs the Browns 2nd string.. I was like..
