quote:The MMA crowd thinks they are masters of the universe.
They are not Mr. Miyagi, Caine from King Fu, or old school Chuck Norris.
ETA: Hell, most MMA fans think they are badass fighters just by watching it

Ref my earlier comment about MMA spectating being their fanbois' only experience in unarmed conflict. They think these guys are the beginning and end when it comes to fighting. Most MMA fighters are washed out wrestlers, boxers, wannabe SF, etc.
Now the average MMA stud over 170lbs would kick my arse. So this isn't personal. But pretending as though they're invincible or some shite is ridiculous. Again, they aren't Mr. Miyagi.

I remember you. You're the beta who actually thinks you can beat up UFC fighters under 155lbs

Don't you also think there's some monk in Nepal who would use voodoo to kick every UFC fighter's arse? You probably also think Navy food servers such as yourself would win as well since you went through basic training

Shawn Jordan was a college football player that is able to win MMA fights against men in his own weight class. But Ray Rice, an NFL football player, cant beat up a woman who is 5 weight classes under him. interesting

I guess you're the "alpha" who gets his arse whipped by guys (and girls?) you outweigh by 50lbs. And again, I wrestled and boxed for years. I wouldn't be walking in cold.

Brother was an All-American, not I. I have the basics down, though

That's cute. We don't go through "basic training" or "boot camp" though.

this is why UFC uses the small arse octagon and pride used the much bigger ring
This is wrong.
The UFC octagon is the biggest in the sport, and was bigger sq size than prides ring
The lack of cage walls made the ring seem bigger because fighters couldn't get pinned against the cage like in the octagon

Who wins a fight between Superman and Rousey? I mean Superman is strong and fast, but he has no formal MMA training.

Holy shite!! Let me get this straight for a second.
- You are/were in the Navy
- You know how to box & wrestle
- You have a jock for an older brother
Why did I ever doubt you.....total badass over here
You would totally kick Jose Aldo's arse.....cause you weigh more!!

How can you sit here and argue with half of the poster in here? I know this is said A LOT but this may have the dumbest statements of any thread I have ever seen. The worst was probably that Donkey Kong Suh would beat Jon Jones in a street fight because the only chance Jones would have is a one punch KO!

I have two cousins, one was a recon Marine for 8 years in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's about 6'2" 255
My other cousin is an MMA fighter who fights around Houma, new orleans, Mississippi, etc. He fights in light heavyweight, he only lost one fight to a guy who was 6'5" 265 when he had a week's notice and was weighing in at 230. Trains with some ufc talent, Been doing it for a few years and has had more success than I imagined he would.
Was drinking with my marine cousin and he straight up admitted after watching the workouts and training, it's not a hobby and for him to have the upper hand he would need a sidearm
