If Curry gets drafted by Minnesota, which should have happened, he has zero championships. It can’t be stressed enough how the Warriors built the perfect team for him, and for modern basketball in general.
A 6’7 sg who is the second best shooter ever, and elite wing defender. A 6’7 sf who can play center and run point, while also being arguably the best defensive player and having the highest basketball IQ of his generation.
Being able to bring in Durant, who is better than Curry and the best or second player in the league during that run.
Then the incredible role players. Bogut great defensive center. David West, Livingston, finals MVP Iggy.
Curry, Klay, and Draymond all are great players, but I don’t think any of them individually are the kind of player you just drop on a roster and that team becomes great like a LeBron, Durant, Luka, Giannis.

The talent was obviously there though I’m sure, plus his dad being a long range NBA bomber… pretty huge miss and goes to show the recruiting services and coaches flat out miss sometimes.
Steph is one of a kind. You can’t predict a guy who is that size and mainly a 3 point shooter will end up being so special at shooting 3’s that it’s a game changer. It’s literally never happened before in that sport.

The Rubio hype train was real but picking a guy who wouldn’t come over for 2-3 years was a problem on one level then they pissed off Kevin Love by not giving him a designated player contract because they were saving that for Rubio. I am just of the opinion that a “draft and stash” should not be a top 10 pick, especially so at a position where you can only really have one of them.
At the time, people thought Rubio was gonna be what Doncic ended up being. That’s how special he was as a prospect.

This was right before they got Curry.
No it wasn’t. Curry had been there a few years and that was Klay’s rookie year.
