Except when they were dunking (sometimes while wearing gold chains), throwing no looks, and selling shoes.

The difference between the Dream Team and the Redeem Team is that the Dream Team didn't have thugs like Carmelo Anthony.

Nothing says thug like hitting a guy and running to the other side of the court.

He didn't play the season before. When he came back to the league are you sure he was playing point?

This is selective memory at its finest. Jordan made hundreds of millions with "fancy dunks", especially at this point in his career.

Yeah they just had a player who broke a guy's nose in a fight after a game and threw another man through a plate-glass window.

He retired in 91 after leading the Lakers to the Finals playing PG. 91-92 he was out and put on some weight, but was still a PG. I think he came back in like 95 or the 95-96 season and was playing F because by then we had Van Exel and Jones in the backcourt (not to mention he had put on a bit more weight).

Larry Bird by himself would beat this new team. These guys are going to lose to Argentina. You can count on that.

Sounds right. I would still take current CP3 over that Magic that played in those Olympics. (again I think Magic was the greatest PG ever earlier in his career ) Looks like Barkley was actually the workhorse of those Olympics. I guess that was right around his MVP year.

Well obviously I dont think Larry Bird would win by himself but the dream team was much better. I do really think USA might lose to Argentina or if they win its gonna be close.

I don't know how you can say that based on how both teams have played so far, I think we win going away.

Bird's back was fricked in those Olympics. To be honest I think his name got him on that team more then anything. I do think he is one of the greatest ever, just old and injured at that point.

ETA: we are going to blow Argentinas doors off.

You are wrong. There has never been a player more suited for the international game than Larry. He could still go out and be a force as a shooter only.

I love Larry as much as the next guy, but he wasn't one of our better players in 92. His back was in terrible shape. I can't remember if he even played the next season, or just retired right then.

But they didn't have cornrows.
