These guys were my faves
1.Montana
2.Young
3.Fouts-Loved watching his Charger teams light it up. Much like Marino if he had a great defense he would have a few super bowl rings.

Where would Warren Moon rank all time and could he have been the yardage leader if he played his whole career in the NFL?(49,325 yards-291 touchdowns)

Moon is borderline top 10, IMO. Oilers/Titans FTW.

You can't claim him, sorry.

And to your 2nd question: Moon played 6 years in the CFL before getting his shot in the NFL. He sits about 20,000 yards behind the all-time yardage leader in the NFL.
This means that to be the leader, Moon would've had to average about 3,333 yds/season in those 6 years to be #1.
During Moon's prime (Houston & 1st two seasons in Minnesota), he averaged about 3,800 yds/season. Those seasons include 3 seasons in which he missed at least 4 games due to injury.

In 6 seasons in the CFL he had over 21,000 yards. Im not saying he is a top 3 but he should be considered because of his stats.

3) Dan Marino

Moon is probably a top 10-12 QB. He put up some sick stats. But he was pretty mediocre in big games. He had five fumbles in a close playoff game versus Kansas City (Joe Montana's Chiefs), for example. He holds the individual NFL lifetime record for most fumbles made (162). He threw a few picks in his day too. So, he wasn't great. I'm not even sure he belongs in the Hall to be honest.

You could say the same things about Fav-ruh FWIW. Luckily the interceptionmachi--err--"gunslinger" had Reggie White to get him a SB ring.

I wouldn't say that. Favre was probably the best player in football during the mid to late '90s. At his peak, he was much better than Warren Moon.

You cant be serious, Moons stats speak for themself.( 5,357 completions in 9,205 attempts for 70,553 yards and 435 touchdowns as a pro NFL + CFL) He didnt win a Super Bowl but neither did Marino and he is usually at the top of most list and he should. Moon threw 233 ints compared to Favres record 317. So I dont want the int deal to go against Moon.

It's a larger debate of who belongs in the Hall or not. By today's standards, yeah he probably "belongs." But if they only want great players in the Hall, he doesn't belong. Moon was very good. Not great.

Fumbles lost Moon-162 Favre-159

MVP's: Favre - 3, Moon - 0
Maybe there'd be a comparison if you completely ignored the '90s when Favre was at his best.

A few MVP winners during Moons prime; Theismann, Marino, M.Allen, Montana, L.Taylor, and Elway. I never said Moon was the top QB or even top 3 but should be considered as a top 5 or 7 QB. In the not so distant future it will be Peyton Manning at the top of the list and it will be by a long way and Favre somewhere in the top 4.

MVPs are almost as silly a measure of greatness as Superbowl wins. All they measure is perception. Same perception that kept Moon out of the league for 6 years b/c of his race. One of Favre's MVPs was shared w/ Barry Sanders when he rushed for over 2,000 yds and averaged 6 ypc. That was bullshite.
Watch this. McNair MVPs-1 Moon MVPs-0.
Is McNair really even in Moon's league? Moon was an all time great. He was under-appreciated b/c he, not Marino or Elway, was the one who spent his career carrying crappy teams. Remember what happened to the Oilers when they let Moon go? Moon just happened to spend his career playing for a mediocre team in the golden era of QBs. That shouldn't take away from how awesome he really was.

QBs better than Moon:
Marino
Manning
Montana
Elway
Brady
Favre
Young
Unitas
Bradshaw
Again, I think 10-12 is a better area for him.
