Starr is not a bad choice at all. Actually, I'm not sure I wouldn't put Unitas in there at number 3 over Elway. Tough call.

I want to put Elway in there but he struggled a bit during the middle of his career. And I don't blame Marino for not having a team good enough to win the Super Bowl.

bullshite!! Elway got to the SB almost by himself for the 1st two. Marino had just what he needed great WR'S. CRAP argument.

Nice choice. Had some great years with the Colts. Just not as mobile as Elway.

Agree. But Elway and Jones had perhaps the best arms ever in the NFL. Chollie Mac, what was he thinking?

YOU are DEAD wrong!!!!!

Denver's defense was good and he had some decent weapons around him on offense. Ever heard of BOBBY HUMPHREY?!?

Plus Elway wasn't always that efficient. He didn't have a great completion percentage and there were a few seasons where he threw as many or more interceptions than TDs. That's why Denver drafted Tommy Maddox.

Elway carried a team more than anyone. People forget the dude went to 3 super bowls with inferior overall talent on his team. They got shallacked in those three super bowls, but he got them there none the less.

Once he got some talent around him, he flourished. They could've won 3 straight super bowls from 1997-1999. They got upset in 1997, but were really the best team the whole season up to that point without question.

As for the other 2? I'd say Montana has a great claim and so does Otto Graham.

Favre is overrated in my opinion. Very good QB, but if all QBs forced the throws he did, they'd often have the same records. His consecutive starts record is BS, because he's played injured and hurt his team because of that streak. Furthermore, he's done best when he's had a dominant running game.

The 5 NFC championship games he got to had much more to do with Packers' defenses, and the threat that is AP and the Vikings defense.

How many SB's did he get to??? How many did Marino. Yes Miami went 14-2 in 1984. I guess they had NO defense huh??? He ws coached by one of the best in history and stil couldn't get there. Marino doesn't belong ahead of Elway.

Elway won two Super Bowls with the best talent in the league.

Yes he did. But what about the other three!!! I know its a team game but what Elway did to get those other three teams to an SB was borderline incredible. If you can't see that then you are uneducated about the NFL. Or VERY YOUNG.

Now to get serious with Dilfer. I know your point isn't really invalidated when I say this, but Dilfer proved that SB appearances/wins is a totally worthless stat as far as who is the greatest. Brees is miles better than Dilfer could ever hope to be, but Dilfer still has the advantage if SBs are important.

Again, doesn't really invalidate anything, but try not to focus so much on SBs. They're not the only factor.

which is why I always considered Marino to be better than Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw. Troy and Terry were surrounded with super RB's and WR's while Marino had neither.

But so many people rank Aikman/Bradshaw above Marino due to the Super Bowl rings. SB victories don't tell the entire story.

Marino had only one thousand yard rusher. Elway had Sammy Winder, Humphrey, Gaston Green, Terrell Davis. All Pro Bowlers. Marino had ONE really good receiver and that's it.

And Marino played with a top-10 defense in just four out of his 17 seasons.

Marino didn't have that much talent around him either, OLD MAN!!! You SIR, are SENILE!!!
