Las Vegas has been one of my favorite places to go and I was looking forward to the Raiders moving there. After the tragedy on Oct 1st, I just can't bring myself to think about ever going back. And I hate that - hopefully my feelings will change over time.

The Rock did a great job pushing that team to vegas. And getting investors involved.

Agreed. Raiders fans are a fiercely loyal group.

I wonder how many Raiders fans will actually follow their team and up and move to Las Vegas? It might be a win win for them. Move to a world class city AND get to watch your team. I think the Raiders moving to Las Vegas will be the most successfull sports story of relocation or expansion in a long long time. That's a world class stadium in a city on the world stage. Plus it just sounds right as it rolls off your you tongue....Las Vegas Raiders

Cheap hotels and cheap flights will make this destination numero uno for away team fans and neutral fans.

I'm definitely going to see the Saints play there when that happens every blue moon.

1.9B is actually cheaper than I would have thought. I guess land is cheaper in Vegas than in Arlington or Atl.

Was thinking the same thing. In 10 years will this guy own the stadium?

Plus the Raiders will win every home game because other teams will be out partying too hard on their road trip.

WTF? You think that's going to happen every weekend or something? Guess you don't ever go to New York after 9/11 either.

Vegas is still very dependent on tourism, and vacation dollars are the first thing to go in a downturn. Tourism destinations like that are boom/bust towns. It is like everyone forgot what shape Vegas was in only a few years ago.

The city did NOTHING to prevent the team from moving.

I think its fricked up that owners leach off cities to make them pay for stadiums

Vegas and its hotel tax was a smart move though.
