When Pascal knocks you down, it's definitely a barometer that you're too old.

This is going to be an embarrassing loss for B-hop.

It's not that he isn't known for punching power, but he is definitely not a knockout puncher. Pascal has alot of flaws, and the way he throws his punches is a big one.

If B-hop were 18 years younger, he would school Pascal. If Chad Dawson had shown up at all, he would have beaten Pascal easily.

I fully expect that Chad Dawson will beat Pascal in his next fight, because Pascal is required to give him a rematch within the year. Dawson will show up and do work in the rematch.

Hopkins has taken this fight over. He'd be winning on the cards if it weren't for the knockdowns, IMO.

Hope the judges are fair if it goes the distance.

I think we both know which way the judges will go tonight. I think he has little chance to get out there with the decision, no matter what.

The reason being the early knock downs. I agree.

Great fight, didn't expect Bhop to come on like that.

A lot better fight than I expected. I think BHop won, but I'll be ok if either one wins a close decision.

114-112 BHop
113-113 draw
114-114 draw

Majority draw. I'm ok with that.

A draw isn't too bad in this fight. I knew they couldn't let Bernard leave with the decision.

I would be happy with that if I were Bernard.

The early knockdowns made all the difference in the eyes of the judges.

Maybe Dawson and Hopkins at the end of 2011???

Should be a good year of fights next year, and I am looking forward to it.

That was a pretty good fight, I thought Hopkins won the fight, but a draw is fine in my book because of the knockdowns.

Poor judging, its a sign of exactly how poor judging is that Hopkins gets a draw and you think oh well, that's not THAT bad, at least they didn't give it to Pascal. But there's no way Pascal won that fight. At best you could give him a draw and that's a stretch.

I was almost right...BHop would have KOed him if there was a 13th round.

Notice Pascal was not as eager to fight Hop again.

The old man dominated...the first Knock down was not legit. And for the record...BHop was winning Rd 1 before the b.s. Knock down.

The only round JP won was 1 and 3 and maybe 12. The rest Hopkins clearly won.

IMO- The only Rd Hopkins lost the whole fight was Rd 3. I hope Hop fights one more time...a re-match with Pascal.

Not sure about that. The 12th was as close to a Pascal round as there was after the 4th.

But Pascal dodged a huge bullet. He lost, pretty much everyone knows that, and I suspect he knows it but he kept the title and can move on from here.

True.

Yeah...notice he didn't called out "B-Hop" after this fight.

Pascal stopped punching after Rd 3. I liked it when Tarver started laughing and said, "Let the schooling begin."

I am proud of B-Hop...I just hope he gets a chance to win the title one more time...he deserves it. And I know...that one day he will be done...after 3 rounds I thought it was tonight.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix is reporting that controvesry has engulfed the scoring of the Bernard Hopkins vs. Jean Pascal fight, with the Canadian judge’s scorecard having an altered eighth round score and the Belgain judge’s scorecard having an altered first round scorecard. Both scorecards show evidence of whiteout being used to change the score originally written down. On his twitter Mannix wrote “From what it looks–repeat, looks–like the changes cost Hopkins. But we don’t know the source of the whiteout yet. Officials investigating”. Mannix had earlier claimed that it looked like the original scorecards would have made Hopkins the split decision victory.

This comes after the initial controvesry over the scoring, with many having the fight for Bernard Hopkins 114-112. Mannix reports that at the post fight press conference Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said that they would look into overturning the result legally but did not believe that there had been any corruption in terms of totalling up the scores. Schaefer also said that the WBC plans to order an immediate rematch between Hopkins and Pascal.
