If the connections are smart they would pass, IMO. You would be asking a whole lot of a horse with minimal experience.
Yes I agree, I was just thinking of those that might run. I might be off by a few but should be fairly close.

Today was the first day that CC had to really work for antyhing. He made short work of the derby field. He had to run today but he still was not "tested". That race today was over once Victor hit the gas pedal. I akin it to ghostzappers Breeders Cup Classic run. CC reminds me very much of ghostzpper with their high action / running style.
something else you'll notice, CC doesn't lose course, doesn't get tired, he runs straight. CC had something left in the tank. maybe not as much as he did after the derby but he wasn't close to losing today.
Nothing that ran today will beat him in the Belmont. Really the only thing I see beating him is circusmtances.
I can tell you this, if he has a weakness, he doesn't like dirt and he doesn't like to be boxed in. The first thing Vci does in every race is get clear run. If they pull a Eddington / Birdstone Job on CC that would cost him the race. I still hate Jerry Bailey because of that.
I remember when Big Brown ran in 2008, he was an easy winner but everyone was looking at Casino Drive (half brother to rags to riches) as a horse that could beat him in the Belmont.

Not that it matters to him but Jerry Baily is dead to me. What a piece of crap to cost another horse a race because you can't win. Frick him.

CC's acceleration at the top of the stretch
is just sick

The million dollar question is can he have that acceleration AFTER running for 11 furlongs instead of 9. If he can, 1/5 he wins the triple crown.
That's what made hosres like Sea the Stars so brilliant. Didn't matter how far you ran when it was time to go he turned into a ferrari. That Arc where he went from like 12th to 1st in about 5 strides is the most breathtaking shite ever.

Anybody else watch Verrazano run today?
Not a standout performance, but better than I thought he'd do.

Where?

He ran in a group 1 in England. Straight mile. Decent 3rd in first run since cigar mile. Finally got grass.
Actually, he ran in the race you posted of frankel

At first I was like, WTF? Then I figured it out. Just watched it. He was in all sorts of trouble, but pretty meh for me. I'm sure he will get a couple over there.

Poor bullet train. Stuck being the rabbit for his brother.

I never was a big fan. Canadian LOVED him, though.

I felt like the horse had some left in the tank at them derby for sure. He obviously pulled up to slow down. I didn't get that feel today. I felt like he gave it a very strong run but would have died if there would have been an extra 5/16. Tough on three weeks rest against some horses that may be a bit fresh.
This is a big no-no. A mile and 3/16 race is run differently from a mile and 1/2 race. CA Chrome actually put in a pretty sustained drive in this race.
Also he has a high comfortable cruising speed. I could actually see him go to the front in the Belmont and cruise around there and then just dare someone to come grab him in the stretch. Just because a horse "closes" doesn't mean they have more stamina than the front runner. They just got to gallop along a lot more slowly early in the race so of course they have a bit more in the tank in the later part of the race. However, those closers in the Belmont aren't likely to be smoking a 24 quarter at the end of the Belmont either. No one remembers that Birdtsone was just running faster than an exhausted Smarty Jones ( who had just run a 2:00 mile and quarter). He wasn't exactly going that fast.
