Didn't the Ref wait until after the ball landed on the ground before he threw the Flag? In other words, he observed the entire play before he made his decision?

Why didn't the Ref throw the flag when the foul was committed? Perhaps there was an initial thought to NOT throw the flag, but, after some deliberation and input from Mahomes, the flag is thrown.

It was a ticky-tack flag.

Wasn't that the only flag thrown for that specific penalty for the whole game?

I don't believe it's scripted. I do believe the officiating is horrible and could potentially have some bias to it.

Sort of where I fall - I tend to be closer to simply pointing at officiating being trash, but the NFL's product is so, so massive, there's undoubted bias for some players over all others.

In general, officiating is really bad across all sports. I see it worse in CBB and NFL than anything else.

There had to be some sort of punishment to the officials for missing that call right?

Football can't be 100% scripted. Even the movies are almost impossible to script out perfectly. But, referees can influence the outcome. Does that penalty get called if the Chiefs are ahead, have no chance at winning, or the Eagles have 2 timeouts left? And why did the ref wait so long to throw the flag? That's how WEAK the holding call was, and why everyone outside of the Chiefs and their fans are questioning the legitimacy of it. :08 left is a massive difference from 1:30+ after the field goal.

There were not. They officiated the conference championship game again this year. They were prolly given raises by Goodell.

Is the NFL league operations in Birmingham? NFL and SEC ought to combine their efforts. Their both good at determining the outcomes on games with big impacts.
