the heat would also have a GLARING hole at the small forward since spoelstra doesnt want to play beasley at the three

it really isnt that bad of a thought for them, considering wade is the primary ball handler and he will be driving half the time. you cant bog down on wade with the threat of a sharpshooter and one of the best three point guys in the league sitting in the corner

really isnt that bad at all now that i think of it

yeah, it's a good deal for both, the Hornets get that needed slasher and better defender than Peja, and for the Heat, just like you said. it's up to the Heat whether or not they wanna take on Peja's contract.

doesn't look very likely if you ask me, especially if they need a Center and Jermaine O'Neal is a legit possibility

Hilton has been pretty solid lately. Maybe he could sweeten up the deal. I'm starting to like the guy, but it would probably be worth dealing him if it meant getting rid of Peja's contract.

hilton just got hurt

no need to trade him when the heat would probably rather julian anyways. unless they just desperately want a center

haslem > hilton imo

I'd shoot for Camby and some smaller contracts from the Clips, even if it means taking Ricky Davis off their hands (you could just buy him out)

I think most of us would do it - but I doubt Byron Scott would do it. He loves him some Peja.

But yeah, I'd even throw in Hilton or JuJu and/or a 2010 first rounder.

scott is way to loyal to some of these guys, and he is also a stubborn son of a bitch. he is going to end up foing alot of serious damage to the team because of his refusal to have it any other way but his

if you want to move marion, how does peja, a sharpshooting outside threat, and either of those two guys, two young very very cheap players, not sound good to miami

oneal is done imo, producing at the level he used to

NOT A CHANCE IN HELL THE HEAT WOULD DO THAT !!!! Look they need a center not a 3 who stands in one spot. Plus they have one of the better shooters in the league already in Daequan Cook, who is much younger and Scores in double figures. Has more three pointers made, attempted, and a better percentage than Peja.

If anything the Heat will only trade Marion for a Center.

I would trade Peja for Marion straight up but not give one of our young guys too. Julian and Hilton are both keepers when trading for an expiring contract. A starting lineup of Paul, Mo Pete, Butler, West and Chandler and bench player of Posey, Marion, Daniels, Juju and Hilt is not too bad at all.

No way Miami does this for Peja. This would spell doom for when Dwayne Wade can opt out next year. Only way New Orleans get Marion is in a three way trade. Peja to Toronto, Marion to New Orleans and O'Neal to Miami. Some minor players would have to be included to make the deal work but could happen. Miami is not going to take on a contract with more than two years on it so they can convince Wade to stay and pair him with either Bosh or Stoudamire.

If the Hornets get Marion, they go from 4/5 seed with a 1/2 round exit to a contender in the west. Still would struggle with the Laker's size, but this would be a huge upgrade.

what's Toronto's motivation to do such a deal? they could just go O'Neal for Marion straight up and come away with an expiring deal and maybe a draft pick or young player. Peja's deal makes it harder for the Raps to add anybody in 2010 as much as it does for the Heat.
