They are really on fire now, even better than with Meyer. What's the impetus here? I heard Brian Hartline is a really great recruiter.

Old man Saban isn't so attractive anymore and no recruit can understand Ed O.

Ohio State is picking 'em off.

There's no other program in the Big 10 as willing to get as dirty in recruiting, so they automatically have a gigantic advantage over everyone else in the conference.

Factor in that they can sell to every 4 and 5 star recruit that they will cruise to the conference title game every season just like Clemson, and it's just easy to recruit there, even without the bagmen.

Ohio State also has more history than Clemson, so there's that too.

Factor in that no one from the Big 12 ever wins in the playoff and Texas is a shite show, and the SEC is all cannibalizing each other in recruiting and in the field, and you have great path to land elite talent from all over the country.

The school has an SEC mentality in how they operate their program. Urban brought that and Day continued it.

Thats also why Michigan has no fricking chance of ever overtaking them. Michigan is run by self righteous communists, while Ohio State knows who pays the bills.

They are the flagship program of the Midwest. They really have no real competition in their conference. They are going to be top 5, every single year

They had the number one class two years ago, the number two class last year, and currently have the number one class for 2021. Doesn’t seem like he’s that unattractive.

Ohio State landed that top QB recruit because Herman is an imbecile who can't win at Texas. The kid decmmited from them and went to Culumbus.

College Football is dead. It'll be a 4 to 5 horse race until the Democrats deem the game unsafe and barbaric, which ultimately ends the sport for good.

Give it 10 years and come talk to me.

USC and Texas being down, opens up the 5* in the area to look elsewhere. Tho not Ohio St related, the top 2 QBs in SoCal went to Bama and Clemson.

They recruit against Michigan, PSU, and other Midwest and Northeast schools for most of their recruits.

They can sell guaranteed playoff appearances, conference championships, and national exposure that those other schools can’t.

They’re also a national brand. They can go into recruiting hotbeds from Florida to California and pick up a few more elite blue chip prospects to round out their classes.

Annual playoff appearances have also transformed Clemson’s recruiting footprint and the quality of their classes.

If you look at the roster you’ll find this isn’t true. They’re recruiting against the other teams that pull in the top players. Scum and PSU? Sometimes but if they do it’s for an elite kid in THEIR state, not ours. The other Midwest and northeast schools? Not really at all.

Maybe Herman went from OSU as a Trojan horse to keep UT down and send elite Texas croots back to Columbus??

Not one 17 year old cares about any of that

The fact that they can roll off their nfl roster is what gets recruits

Um I’m pretty sure a lot of 17 year olds care about that.

We've been raiding Texas since Meyer got here.

Ryan Day has a really good reputation with QB gurus around the country and has done nothing to dissuade the best QBs (Haskins, Fields, and to an extent Burrow) from coming to Ohio State. We run a pass centric offense, with power concepts. That said, you can utilize up to 6 great wideouts at a time. We have a LOADED QB room and at least two of those guys will transfer out. We get first pick of the best from them though.
