Dude needs to be kicked off the team and I for one am glad to hear that is what has happened. For those of you simple minded folk that will bring up other punches thrown in a football game and suggest this is the same thing are just wrong.
Why this is different than a simple punch thrown during a game.
1: During a game people are physically attacking each other already so it is only a small step away from an actual fight.
2: The punch was thrown well after the game was over. Might not be grounds right there for getting kicked out of school but certainly worse than during a game.
3: The biggest infraction: After he was being dragged away by his coach and police he fought them!!!
There is now justification for that sort of action. Tell me attempting to fight fans and then fighting the cops after the fact sure does reek of someone on drugs are with a mental disorder.
Do you want some a-hole like that wearing your teams jersey? First games of the season and playing on thursday to get national exposure and some dick after your team gets beat makes your university look even worse.
People that think he just deserves a little slap on the wrist are what is wrong with this country.

That is the point I'm trying to make. I'm pretty sure whatever was said should not have been said, but you have to learn to ignore that if not you are going to have a very short sports career. If he would have ignored the fans he would have be suspended a game or 2 at the most. I think the thing that bugged me about the whole situation more than anything was him hitting his own teammate.

From everything I read the fans were letting Blount know he sucked based on comments he had been making. Blount then yelled "frick you" back at the fans and then a fans yelled it back along with something else (although not the N-word) and then Blount went after them.
Read it on a couple different sites and I believe it was posted in this thread also.

Yeah he will still play in Pro, difference will be instead of second or third round he now becomes 6th or undrafted.

From a blog I read yesterday the fans were yelling at Blount asking him about that arse whipping, then the frick You's were exchanged. Then a fan told Blount that he was a fricking piece of shite, garbage player.

Well he is not first player to have issue on field. He is not first player to fight in a game or do something stupid.
Other players were drafted he just needs to stay out of trouble until combine/draft.
