One of the most interesting players in MLB history showed just how to get back at a pitcher, in this case Bob Johnson, who had just thrown at him.

He's also the one that thought to blow the baseball foul:

He was also a part of a number of unique moments in MLB history:

I think he tripled on a 4-2 count against the Phillies.

This set the stage for the Ten Cent Beer Night riot the next week in Cleveland.

Didn’t he also punch his manager at some point?

Other than Randle indeed getting his revenge, the most impressive thing in the clip is just how quick everyone on the screen knew it was business time and went into the fray unwaveringly. Much better than these bullshite standoff/run around yelling and grabbing fights you see these days. Men that knew when the fight was on, the fight was on.

I'm impressed at how quick that pitcher jumped up after Lenny dropped him.

Doesn't look like he ever touched first base.

I like it. Considering how much permanent damage a fastball can do to a person's face I think hitters should be able to dish out some punishment to pitchers who deserve payback. It's also a great reason for pitchers to have to bat. If you want to throw at a man's head be prepared for his teammates to throw at yours.

Was Billy Martin the manager that year? I bet he loved Randle.

The fact that he bunted down 1st base line knowing the pitcher would be the one playing the ball.

That is a smart motherfricker there.

Pretty common back in the day. Haven't seen it in years, though. Now, they just charge the mound.
ETA: They used to make sure the first baseman had to field the bunt, then run over the pitcher while he was concentrating on getting the throw at first.

First baseman tackled him. That would be interference but I think he was already out when he left the basepath.

It's hilarious how he just continues running to first base after he trucks the pitcher
