Ohio St and Herbstreit

Is it likely that Herbstreit lived in Columbus, OH and was still around the program and never even questioned what cars the players were driving?
Is it likely that he didnt know what was going on around the program? He has said many times that when he is not on the air that he is a fan and alumnus of OSU but is impartial while on the air.
He had no problem discussing rumors that were flying around other programs but never mentioned OSU.
How can he say that he is impartial?

Herbstreit recently left Ohio because some of the tOSU fans couldn't handle him being critical of their program (when they deserved it)
He is not an investigative reporter tho. He is more of a talking head or columnist. IMO he does that job fairly well and should not be faulted for trying to dig up dirt RE his alma mater

He left during the offseason just before the story broke. Obviously, he was tipped that it was about to break.
Hell, what about his radio show? Are you telling me that you think it is believable that the topic never could have come up?

many OSU fans HATE herbie because they think he is biased against their program
Which to me is just as unfair as people saying he should have gone after tOSU with an independent investigative piece... just because he played there
If Kevin Faulk were doing TV commentary I wouldn't expect him to be current on whatever scandal might happen at LSU
