He's (was) keeping the rallies short, unloading on the 1st ball he can do something with.

Nadal's gaming this? He does the strangest things. He'll come out to run his arse off and steal this tie breaker.

ETA: Crazy to actually hear what he is saying. Nadal fricked up his ankle. I bet he wins the tiebreaker 7-4.

Berdych is a mental midget so Fish should pull it out, hopefully.

Tsonga up 6-3, 1-0 on Ferrer....prepare your anus Roger

I'm not watching, but it seems like Delpo is repeatedly getting into trouble on his serve. I'm guessing Nadal is dominating the rallies?

I came in at 3-3 and watched the rest of the first set. Hour and a half lunch is all I can justify from work today so the rest will hafta give their thoughts on the rest of the match. What I saw though:

-Rafa’s skidding slice was really causing Delpo problems. He didn’t know what to do with it. He didn’t look comfortable getting anything of substance on it and Rafa would eventually turn it into a smashing winner. Then Delpo decided to come in on it and that didn’t work well either. Basically Rafa kept putting it perfectly to where Delpo was really in no man’s land.

-Delpo was serving exceptionally well (until he doubled to give Rafa the first set haha).

-Rafa’s injury seemed to affect his forehand more than anything. I don’t know if it affected his planting or what but his movement and backhand were fine afterwards. He was spraying everything with the forehand though. He was basically only able to rally with it in the tiebreaker. Anytime he went for a winner he missed pretty damn bad.

Will be interesting to see how the rest of the match goes. If Delpo keeps serving like this it could go 4+.

Also love what Fish is doing !

Very unWimbledon-like behavior from Rafa.

Rafa’s injury

I'm not able to watch, so I didn't see where Rafa may have gotten injured...but now the foundation has been laid for IF Rafa doesn't win the title this year...b/c it seems like the only time Rafa doesn't win a GS is when he is injured or sick.

People on tennis forums are pissed and questioning whether he was really injured. Seems like every time he's in trouble he calls an injury timeout.

I'm not a Nadal hater, so don't get me wrong. I think Rafa is a phenomenal player and one of the best ever. However, I just don't think its fair that talk that Fed got when he raised an issue with his back a few years ago and then the mono episode. People were saying it was just a bunch of excuses. However, Nadal seems to get much more leeway with his "I'm sick," "I'm tired," or "I'm injured" statements after he loses a match, or the injury timeouts he takes during matches.

the TO before the breaker in the 1st seemed legit IMO...
Del Po looked like he was losing it upstairs and getting frustrated before Nadal called the trainer... I thought anyway

Fish just beat Berdych in 3. At least we have an American in the quarters, even if he's just going to get run over by Rafa
