Peterson has everything to gain here. It's been done already today and he might play aggressive. Might burn him too, but you have to take a shot at a time like this if you're JP

quote:You could say the same for Michael thompson's putt on 17. A +1 playoff is very possible.
When it's all said and done, that missed putt by Petey may keep him out of a playoff.

He has a ton to lose top 10 is big money for him.
In endorsements, exemptions and playing in the majors next year.

quote:For real, the guy is just an average joe so far. He'd love a piece of that 2nd or 3rd place prize money. It would probably mean a bit more for him than Ernie Els. It really has to suck to not only be playing for the US open but to be thinking about the money aspect that most pros don't have to worry about.

Plus I'm sure a bunch of status and exemptions etc. I'm sure all of the opportunities are running through his head.

As long as he stays at +4 or better he'll be good for that. If I'm him, I'm going all in. He may never see this chance again in his life..no guarantees

Furyk just playing steady.

This isn't a Tour event. The only exemptions he would get would be into next years majors depending on where he finishes.

+1 might be the magic number for a playoff. I'm smelling Monday golf.
