Just get the feeling it's good for the game of hockey...plus Detroit is kinda fricked $$$$wise so the extra games will be good for their gate...

I would advocate Columbus, but they are fairly close to other central teams in the West conference. Most of Nashville's closest cities have to be in the Southeast, I would think (haven't measured). Nashville, Florida, Tampa, Washington (maybe), Carolina, and Dallas (St. Louis?) could form a southern division.

I saw a similar idea floated when the Toronto paper was advocating a Canada confernece.

Cap hit on the Alzner deal is just under $1.3 mil. He will be paid $1.3 mil in '11-12 and $1.27 mil in '12-13. Total of $2.57 for two years.

$1.3 million? Are you kidding me? I thought it was gonna take around $3 million. Now, Poti gets put on the LTIR (or retires) and that'll put the Caps about $2 million UNDER the cap. which means no need to trade Semin. Or even Schultz or Chimera.

WOOOOOO!!!!! Caps just re-signed their best defensive player for well under what he'd go for on the open market.
