The Pacers didn't offer Hibbert a max deal. The blazers and one other team have.

Mavs? The Mavs don't have the pieces to trade for Howard unless they would turn Hibbert around to Orlando

That was just one of my guesses. Although I would think the Mavs would want it to be known who they are offering to entice Deron more

Pretty sure they would have to wait a couple of months before they would be able to turn around and trade someone they just signed.

The Magic want to trade Howard now. At this point, the longer the wait, the less value they will get.

Hibbert is not worth anywhere near a max deal right now. Teams with money to burn are still making terrible decisions with bad contracts.....what exactly was the purpose of the lockout again?

Hey SlowFlow, as this thread gets bigger and bigger today, it would be a lot easier if you changed your first page to show some of the signings, the top targets, and players looking to be traded.

Staying on topic, I think the Mavs love Hibbert as well so they may just hold onto him knowing that Howard is out of their hands

to save owners from themselves

these deals are 4-year deals, so they minimize the long-term impact on owners

durant, in a similar position pre-lockout, got 5/86. these guys are getting 4/58

The longer they hold onto him and the more he talks, the less they are going to get

they will likely have to deal dwight to a team for a half year rental, and get that sort of value

then they will have a massive payroll for a few years while they blow

Wrong.

They should have traded him last year. They were fooling themselves thinking everything was good when he agreed to opt-in last year. They could have gotten some good pieces for a rebuild had they traded him last year. Now, they are at the mercy of the rest of GM's.

The Magic aren't going to deal Dwight to Brooklyn or to a team he wants/demands to go to. They just won't trade him at all, sit his arse on the bench as a DNP all season long, then let him walk at the end of the year. Orlando will not get a bunch of shitty contracts in return, they can rebuild from scratch, & Dwight will have to sign with some shitty team that can afford him.....not Brooklyn (unless he wants to take a massive paycut)

At this rate, they are going to deal him before the season starts.
