had him circled on the DR Form when I narrowed the field down to make my picks, and the reason is the form said he had the highest Dosage Index of 5.40. What is a Dosage Index? I've never heard of that before, and hence, didn't wager on the horse.

I was going to give a quick rundown but someone posted all of it in detail. I knew an old man and this is the only way he bet. If he's still alive he's counting his money. Damn Calvin Borel

watching the replay, calvin did a hell of a job of holding him back when they came out of the gate.

Retroactive research conducted at the time the term "Dosage Index" first became common knowledge revealed that no horse having a Dosage Index of higher than 4.00 had won the Kentucky Derby since at least 1929 (a year chosen because by then the number of available of chefs-de-race on which to base the figures was thought to have reached a critical mass), and that over the same period only one Belmont Stakes winner (Damascus in 1967) had such a Dosage figure

Best thing that could have happen to him......didn't let him blow his load early on.

Sorry I asked.

Dude did you just see the aerial shot of the race? MTB made every other horse look like they were running backwards. What was he on? Borel slipped him some Tobasco sauce I guarantee you.

Odds are just as good as a pick 4......with same payout.

I put money on fire just for the hell of it, but I told myself if he lost I wanted a longshot to win it. Not too upset about the outcome, a ton of other people lost money too, and to those who had the courage to pick Mine the Bird, they deserve their winnings. I don't know anyone who picked Bird, even for just the hell of it.

I just watched the aerial... MTB straight up dropped the hammer on the rest of the field - horse nitrous!

WTF are you smoking? A $1 Superfecta payed $278,503 and a Pick 4 payed $20,442. No where near the same.

it didnt seem like his jockey could find a line that he liked. he moved inside than outside then he tried to hold the middle, and that was all around the first turn. it seemed to me like he wore the horse down moving all over the track. not that it would have mattered because no one was going to keep up with that insane burst from Mr. 50-1

The best thing about this whole race was that a redneck cowboy with a pick up truck and a trailer beat the great sheik and his 3 million dollar horse.

Winning the Derby is really just luck most of the time. There's too many horses running in it. I think it's dangerous to have a field that large.

None of my horses finished in the top five. But this was an awesome race. Quoting ESPN--" the only thing going for MTB is the jockey. The horse is terrible." Winner again for foot in mouth disease is the pricks.
