Wicked Strong is my upset pick

I can understand why, but he really didn't have much excuse in the Derby. He didn't have a bad trip. Danza cut him and Medal Count off in the stretch, but they weren't really going anywhere fast. It might have made a difference for 3rd, but not for second or first.

Wicked strong, much like social inclusion, is his own worst enemy.

Apparently social inclusion was bad in the gate today. Gate crew wants him back wed.

I believe his trainer said that it is only a 30%chance he would run in the Belmont if he had to say today.

But the owner is an idiot so I don't count the horse out of the Belmont.

Well, I think he is finally realizing that a possibility of a graded stakes win will look much better along with that classic placing, and considering the gate set up, he has a better chance of not leaving his race at the gate since they load in on the backstretch for the Woody Stephens rather than the homestretch right in front of the crowd for the Belmont. Also at 7 furlongs, he may be able to work up in the gate and still get home. Honestly, I will probably bet against him in either race.

I am also sort of flummoxed by all the talking heads calling Tonalist's work out great. I just don't see how being outworked by a partner that is probably a grade 3 horse at best is a great workout.

Of course, if Social Inclusion goes in Woody, then that pretty much leaves California Chrome and Samraat as the lone "speed" in the race. Tonalist was on the lead in the sloppy Peter Pan, but I am not sure he would be as comfortable at the clip that CC and Samraat can gallop at out of the gate. Granted he could pull an Eddington /RH10 and try to burn CC out.

so i dloaded fridays belmont card, NO Filly race for double, so is it a Truenoth/Blemont double?

only 2 stakes on friday, 6 furlongs true north and a 2 mile race on turf. really a poor card for your friday going into belmont day

How much of a shot do you think Samraat has? I dont know if Samraat can quite make the distance

It is because they stacked Belmont day. I'm pretty excited for the grass race. I had no clue that clement had Irish mission now. She's gorgeous. Ill continue to bet her :)

Ok, here are the friday-saturday double bets:

True North-Met Mile double
Belmont Gold Cup-Belmont Stakes

true north is 6furlong sprint
BGC is a 2 mile turf race

you could make it a NY stakes day, with 2 other stakes races. its really a poor card.

If Social Inclusion is actually going to race Saturday after a 3 week rest, he should run in the Belmont. He's better than a lot of horses in that race.

They just ran a NY-bred stakes day this Saturday if that is what you are implying.

Two competitive stakes races is a pretty good race day at any track, especially if the next day, the track is paying out northwards of 8mil. NYRA is basically making its own gamble that the kind of handle they will get on such a stellar card will more than make up for now more lackluster days, like Memorial Day without the Met Mile. I think it is an excellent gamble, personally. Really horrible weather than takes turfs off turf and causes a lot of scratches is the biggest unknown. WIth a TC in the line, then we may not see what a difference it makes as the handle was likely to be big regardless, but without a TC on the line, it will still make all of us degenerate gamblers step up and take notice. They were also pretty lucky so far that all these stakes races have attracted very well-balanced fields that will make for very interesting betting. While Chrome will likely go off as an even money or lower favorite, he may be the only favorite to do so . The only other one I can think of offhand would be Palace Malice in the Met Mile. With so many on hand who really don't bet so often, then the prices should be all over the place which encourages the more seasoned gambler to bet more because they can get great overlays for the exotics.

I think Social Inclusion is a wickedly fast horse, and may end up the next Dr. Fager, but until he can get his head around the starting gate, he is going to be backing out of a lot of races early.

I was listening to 103.7 out of lafayette today and some idiot said that if chrome wins his owners should continue racing him till he is like 5 or 6 to prove his worth, and to also get more fans following the sport.

He is truly an idiot. I'd be retiring him right after the Belmont unless I got a mega insurance policy to race him in the Classic.

Poor chrome. Saw somewhere on twitter his projected stud fee would be $30,000 and I think that's if he wins.

Kid Cruz out of the Belomnt. I don't think he was much of a threat but one less horse to get in the way.
