There's no way Brockers is worth a top ten pick

He's been a solid player, but not someone with that much value

I don't know what you're laughing at. If Collins isn't cleared, then many teams will take him off their boards completely. I've already heard several former-execs say today that he is completely undraftable at this point.

You only need to be drafted by one team

You think teams wouldn't burn a 5th round pick on a top ten player even if there was a slight possibility he never played again? You're fooling yourself if you think he gets passed over 252 times

And I say 5th as a low ball Armageddon situation for him

Not alone he's not. But he's a very nice piece as part of a trade package.

Was Collins considered a top ten pick? I agree with your general premise but I don't think he was considered a top ten talent

Some viewed him as a top 10 player, others thought he might be a mid-20s guy but it's semantics really. Unless the police name him as a suspect within the next 6 hours, he has about as much of a shot of going undrafted as I do of getting drafted

Like you said in a later post, unless the BRPD came out and named Collins a suspect between now and Saturday, if any team says they wouldn't spend a 5th rounder on him, they would be lying.

The odds of your 5th round panning out, much less staying on the team a whole year, is pretty slim

They don't pay top 10 picks for a guy that hasn't been dominant in the league yet.

In a package, maybe, but straight up? No way.

You've got to understand, these teams think most of these first rounders are going to be future hall of famers. They jizz themselves at potential and guys running in shorts really fast, it's going to take a lot more than Brockers to get them to pass up the players they are rock hard for right now

If they won't draft him in the 1st or 2nd, they won't draft him in the 5th because, again, he isn't even on their board.

And Collins agent at that point would probably beg teams not to draft him at all. They would rather be a UDFA at that point.

So every team has him off of their board right now? Thanks for the scoop Schefter

I don't even know where to start with that line of thinking.

Undraftable because the cops want to talk to him?

Geezus.

Some guys who are still on the board in the 7th round would rather be free agents so they can choose which team they go to. Not all, but some. The money is very similar and they will be competing for the same roster spot as a guy chosen in the 6th or 7th.

They would still rather get drafted. It's their fricking dream to get drafted. It might be a better situation but they would much rather get drafted

And even if they wanted to go undrafted they sure as frick wouldn't be calling teams begging them not to draft them, what kind of look does that give the teams that are already skeptical of you?

Unless there is something out there that NFL Teams are finding out and it's not mainstream yet, I can't imagine him not getting drafted in the first 3 rounds.

This shows me you don't know what you are talking about.

A high profile player like him would rather go undrafted than be picked in the 5th round. The money difference is negligble, and he gets to pick his team, and Restricted Free Agency is somewhat different later on down the road.

Clueless, as always.

Fun fact: the Broncos spent a 3rd round pick on Maureece frickin Clarett

You think they would hesitate to burn a 2-3rd rounder for a guy of Laels talent?

I think this is all pre draft bs. Hell go first round still

Are you joking? There are stories every year of players asking teams not to draft them as they tumble down the boards.

There is a signficant advantage to being a UDFA if you are that high profile as to be drafting in the 7th round.

Bull. fricking. shite.

He's dreamed of getting his name called all his life. He's not thinking "oh frick getting drafted, I want to be undrafted!"

And he's certainly not telling teams that he doesn't want to be drafted.
