Lewis Hamilton won a dramatic British Grand Prix, overcoming a poor start, rain showers and an attack from his team-mate Nico Rosberg to secure victory on home soil.
Hamilton's margin of 10.9s over Rosberg betrays the tense battle that unfolded, first between the fast-starting Williams drivers for the lead and then between the two Mercedes cars when the first rain shower came. However, a perfectly-timed pit stop meant Hamilton was the first of the leaders to take on intermediate tyres when the heavy rain came, and with it he made his third British Grand Prix victory secure. Sebastian Vettel also pitted at the right time to take a podium position away from Williams, whose drivers led one-two until the first pit stop but faded in the worst of the weather to finish fourth and fifth.
Lewis Hamilton wins dramatic British Grand Prix
With the pole position and win at this race, Lewis Hamilton is now 3rd (47 poles) in the list of all-time pole position winners and 5th (38 wins) in all-time race winners.
If he can keep up the wins pace, he will overtake both Vettel (40 wins) and Senna (41 wins) and end up 3rd on the list of all time GP winners by the end of this season.

Just don't know how watching Hamilton and Mercedes win every week is entertaining or good for the sport. Something really has to be done. I'm not even a hard-core F1 fan but this season has been boring knowing the same two Mercedes drivers will more than likely win.

Hamilton's pit stop to change tires before the rain was fricking clutch
back to back years winning it at home

Anybody watching Hungary GP? So much action, not used to all this! Best race of season!

This race has had every damn thing.
Ferrari cruising, but then the safety car leveled it. Kimi goes out with power problems. Hamilton completely lost the plot on the restart from the safety car and he'll just be trying to scrap for points now.
Poised for the best finish all season with Vettel, Rosberg and Ricciardo - hell probably Kvyat now - vying for the podium.

OH shite. Ricciardo just fricked up Rosberg.
ETA: That could be a drive through penalty for Ricciardo and Vettel might have just won the race. And Hamilton is loving this.

So much for that finish. What was RIC thinking on that

fricking so unlucky for Rosberg. Ricciardo locked up big time into the turn, Nico managed to avoid him, but Daniel slid right into him.
ETA: And now a time penalty on Kvyat! fricking love this race!

These penalties are out of control lol

Even after the 10 second penalty, looks like the podium will be: Vettel, Kvyat, Ricciardo. Like WTF?
And Verstappen would be 3rd if he didn't have to drive through for speeding under safety car. Alonso 5th in the shitty McLaren.
ETA: Still a pending investigation into the Ricciardo/Rosberg collision.
ETA2: No action for the collision. Both drivers cleared.

Vettel getting it done cleanly today! Chaos all around him and Kimi once again with bad luck. I can't believe kvyat 2nd and Alonso 5th lol

I thought it looked more like rosberg ran into ricciardo on the replay.
Best race of the season by far, pure chaos.

On replay probably a decent decision by the stewards to just let that one go.
A completely nutso race that was brilliant.

Holy crap you mean we finally have an F1 race where Mercedes isn't in the top 3?

Incredible race today.
Happy for Seb and Ferrari. Glad Nico fricked up and dropped behind Lewis. Sucks we have a month before Spa

Anybody watch Singapore qualifying? I'm really excited for this race. Vettyl and Ricciardo on the front row with the Mercedes back in the 3rd row.
