Phil just need to get close to even after Friday (+1) will give him a puncher's chance. By the end of Saturday he needs to be near -3 or -4. If he can get within four shots of the lead, he will have a chance to win it with a big final round.
Honestly, he played pretty well yesterday. He was -1 for 16 holes. Just two poor shots cost him 5 strokes. Of course now he has no margin for error. He needs three rounds in the 60s. Somewhere around -7 might win this.
