I would definitely not rule out the possibility of Tsonga beating Djoker or Nadal after what would be a very grueling match in the semis(because nobody is winning that match easily). He showed he has the weapons, he is a lot more in shape, high confidence, and an entire crowd on his side.

Nadal rolled Fed in the final after a grueling match (4 or 5 hours) against Verdasco in the semis a few years ago. Fed had had an extra day of rest too
Fatigue shouldn't be an issue for these guys. But yeah Tsonga does look fresh. Both semis should be good.

Nadal has played a lot of tennis lately, but he should be fine.
I think either will beat Tsonga(I'm really hoping for a Tsonga win), but Tsonga has a much better shot than David Ferrer. It will be entertaining.

I knew Ferrer got his arse kicked by Rafa last year, but google reminded me just how bad. 6-2 6-2 6-1 He will have zero chance against either in the final.
Meanwhile Tsonga had an epic match with Dkoker, having 4 match points in the 4th that he couldn't cash in on. 5th set he was exhausted.
This year, I think they said he's dropped about 20 lbs off his frame so he is much more in shape. Also talked about how much he learned from last year.
Again, if Ferrer wins, the final is Friday.
If Tsonga wins, it's Sunday and we could be in for a real treat.
I'm a Tsonga fan(somebody has to take the place of Roddick in my heart), so maybe(most likely)I'm just a little optimistic.

First off, there's probably a 98% chance the winner of Nadal/Djok wins it all. Having said that, there's a 0% chance Ferrer. This is big boy tennis guys. Ferrer is nice getting to the quarters/semis, but he doesn't have the game to top Nadal/Djok.
Tsonga would be a 1-20 kind of guy, but he atleast has skills. Ferrer would get slaughtered by either Djok or Nadal.

Not to mention, Tsonga has the entire crowd on his side.
Yeah, because this always works out so well for Andy Murray at Wimby.

I don't mean to be a dick here, but there's no way in hell Tsonga is beating the winner of Rafa/Djoker.
1. If Rafa beats Djoker in the semi, I just simply cannot fathom him losing in the final. I would be stunned if that happened. And this is true even if Tsonga were to roll in his semi in straight sets and Rafa were to beat Djoker in an epic match reminiscent of the 2012 Aussie Final where both guys were having trouble standing up for the trophy presentation. Rafa would still roll in the final. There is only one guy in the world right now that can beat Rafael Nadal in a five set match on clay. His name is Novak.
2. I know two things about Novak Djokovic: (a) he's the best tennis player in the world, and (b) he wants to win the French Open BADLY. If he gets by Rafa, he will have gotten by the best clay court player in the world, and a guy that will fight him for every single point along the way. Tsonga is not that great on clay. And Tsonga does not have the genetic makeup of Rafael Nadal. And so, again, I just simply cannot fathom a scenario where Djokovic -- finally -- beats Rafa at the French Open, and then loses in the final to Jo Willie Tsonga. I'm trying to wrap my brain around that scenario right now even as I type this, and it just isn't registering.
The men's final is on Friday.

Anyone watching the men's quarters? I'm just checking the scores every now and then. Nadal and Djokovic both seem firmly in control as expected, but Nadal's games are taking a lot longer.

Djoker just won the second set on a tiebreak.
Nadal and Wawrinka tied at 3-3 in the second set.

Being on serve didn't last long for Stan. Down 3-5 now.

The OCD tics are driving me berserk. Rafa has added a crotch grab on return and two sleeve tugs on serve, in addition to the customary head wiping, nose touches, toe drags, buttpicks, making the other guy cross change over first, and going to the towel after every point.

I just watched a few minutes of the match online and was also thinking his pre-serve ritual is even more involved than usual today. Very annoying (especially the crotch adjustment).

Because the French have no regard for my employer's bandwidth.
