Security at ESPN’s College GameDay in Eugene on Saturday will be on the lookout for more than the usual safety threats and foul language on signs. Now, they have references to radio host Dan Patrick’s broadcast to watch out for.

This is pretty awesome. I hope they get a lot of references through security.

Pretty sad statement on ESPN and their 1984 view of broadcasting. They're like Ed Harris at the end of The Truman Show...nothing is too trivial for them to squelch, crush and censor.

ESPN actually is not being sad or 1984, its called protecting their brand. Patrick works for a rival network, it's business not some skull and bones going on.

There is one that says "Occupy Autzen - ESPN is not a real person" when they have the camera on Corso or Herbstreit.

I loved hearing Huggie say he saw Dan Patrick in the crowd a few weeks ago.

Are you serious? First they do it to everyone who leaves their coven...and second, wow, you really think holding up a reference to Dan Patrick is necessary to protect their Empire? It shows how trivial they are in making sure they are the monopoly they want to be.

seems easy to make a sign once you get there with some glue or tape.

Props to the fans in Oregon. Occupy gameday has really come out in force.

Loved the "Chris in Syracuse" sign last week.

When did Dan Patrick or Fox Sports pay to be on a Disney show. Understand it's money not personal.

They're running a live program in a public place...are they going to block out all people in the crowd wearing Addidas jerseys so as not to upset Nike?

There are broadcasts all across America where "rivals" or "corporate brands" get air time because you are broadcasting a live event or hey, an actual football game. ESPN would block out the Goodyear blimp.

And no, ESPN has no rivals in college sports. Blocking a reference on a stupid sign to a former anchor shows how "controlled" the ESPN machine is...and it's petty...free air time? Please, that's like saying a football game gives Scott's Grass seed free advertising time.

Actually Disney does have a rival with all of Fox's networks. Fox shows more college sports than Disney does. CBS has a channel devoted to college only.
