Not anywhere close to the greatest rivalry in sports and certainly not the biggest game of the year.
I'm certainly not a fan of either team, but the game pretty consistently has the highest ratings of the regular season.

Woah, don't be bringing facts and critical thinking into the thread.

The main reason they continue to play at 11 am.
No competition for viewers.

The expectations for Ohio people are extremely low, but even your dumbasses must recognize the advantages of being the only game on TV worth watching.
This isn’t complicated.

Going up against Clemson and Georgia at the same time. That's more competition than any other time slot.

Ok. Clemson/SC and UGA/GT are rivalry games on par with Mich/OSU.
You’ve convinced me

Being on par has nothing to do with your argument that they are going up against no competition for ratings. What argument do you want to roll with now? Scale of rivalry or viewers interested in games that are relevant?

You’ve yet to dispute my original argument so I’ll stick with that. Their viewership numbers are misleading because they’re the only game worth watching that’s on at that time.

The Game has always been played at noon (sans 2006).
It's tradition.
It has nothing to do with tv time slots.
It always has been, and always will be, the highest rated college football game of the year regardless of kick off time.

Plenty of games will get high ratings. Georgia and Clemson as well as others.

Why are you posting as a buckeye fan tonight? Why don’t you use your original username?

Wrong, dipshit.

Yet all people around here do is bitch about its early start time.
And the highest ratings ever was the one year it was played at 2:30...
Doesn't sound like the start time is all that conducive for high ratings.
*Play it at 7:30PM and I'd bet a whole pile of money the numbers would be even higher.

Exactly, it's the highest rated game of the year every year in spite of the early kick off time.
Put it in prime time and the ratings would be through the roof.

You keep saying this and it’s objectively false. 2020 you clowns didn’t play, 2019 the highest rated was LSU/Clemson, 2018 was Alabama/Clemson, 2017 was Alabama/Auburn, and 2016 was LSU/Alabama.
Should I keep going?
