I think Minnesota is that team that matches up as a group but when you pick them individually you say hell no

I think what this proves to me is that absolutely stars matter in recruiting sites, but that the midwest has a lot of kids who aren't as developed who get there through a college strength program, and through 3-4 years schools like Iowa/Wiscy/Minny/NW/MSU etc do a great job developing to play with more elite HS talent

Stars have always mattered. Anybody who says otherwise isn't paying attention. Basically the only teams to play in the playoffs have been in the top 10 in recruiting. Usually it's top 5 teams.

HS football is very different in the midwest. Especially the smaller rural schools like are common in WI/IA/MN. They are not getting great coaching and little if any strength training beyond what they do themselves.

I think it’s improving as I’ve seen schools like Akeny in Iowa hire an old OL Coach from UNI. I noticed teams in northern Missouri hiring ex GA from Northwest Missouri and Pitt St. While Webb City just hires old Pitt St Coaches to replace coaches that go to Pitt St
What I really like is how those schools value wrestling and football which is huge advantage
