Jeffrey Epstein is also a key player in the drama.

Reminder: Epstein didn't kill himself.

also she just got married and had a baby

would be incredible timing if something was uncovered or "confirmed"

You ain't kidding haha. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of women in sports media use their sexuality to get stories. Thanks for the response guys

There's a fine line between giving a sauce the opportunity to respond/correct and letting them control the narrative.

Its way more than that. There's a difference between sending a story and asking "does the information here look correct?" compared to "please edit what you would like here".

Its one thing to make sure the information is correct, its another to allow one side of the story to edit the information in their favor.

Schefter was doing the latter and looks sleazy here.

1. Sports in and of itself is entertainment, and despite some writers’ inflated sense of self importance, they aren’t exactly covering a war or international peace talks.

2. Shefter’s particular job relies on access that people don’t necessarily have to give him, and that relies entirely being trusted by his contacts.

If him being extra chummy with industry insiders results in better entertainment for the consumers of football, who gives a shiite.

Political powers in office that have direct lines of contact with cable news providers is much, much, more of an issue.

That's not how it works though in the real world. Journalists don't separate themselves between things they report on, and furthermore ESPN pushes politics about as much as CNN and Fox news these days. So separating politics and sports from ESPN is almost impossible.

Hell there's politics in the weather these days.

Schefter and others do this to cover their asses if another party disputes the story or someone challenges the truth of it... Or just simply to get it right.

Is it slightly unethical? Yes, probably. But is it necessary sometimes, absolutely.

Not only this - do people think that people like Schefter just get sources because of their job title? They earn that shite through stuff like this.
