The NCAA is ok with Indian tribe names if the local tribe is okay with it.

The Seminoles nor the Utes tribes profit directly from any agreement. We give full scholarships to students from the tribes, input into the native american symbolism we use and cultural awareness. We already did all that long before the NCAA came along.
The Tribes have about a population of 3,000 each. Then you have to factor in what percentage of the youth that want to attend FSU or Utah. I think we only had like a dozen graduate from FSU ever.
Also, how the hell is an aggie going to talk about extortion considering how german you guys are with the "12th man" stuff. I'm sure you're not bothering any Texas High Schools that use it.

Roughriders was the better choice, IMO. Great chance for a kickass Teddy Roosevelt logo similar to the one the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders use.
Plus they could have thrown in "Roughriders " as a fight song.

I went to a UND hockey game a few years ago when I was working up there. The entire fan base still refers to them as the Sioux. Also they have a new multi million dollar arena with the Sioux Logo on all of the seats, and on the floors so based on all this PC, the school is going to have to spend thousands of dollars just removing those images.

Plus all the NCAA tournaments that they should have hosted costing the school and city millions in revenues.
