ESPN ran something on the ticker this morning that the teams that beat UCONN prior to the finals usually end up losing the next game, but the teams that beat Stanford win the title.

Honestly, no one will remember that UConn loss either. Except Bristol and Connecticut...and their landlord...ESPN.

Does Geno pay royalties to ESPN?

Serious question...because if there ever has been a "this drama has been made for a TV audience" sports program and coach it's UConn. Geno didn't need mafia money...he got the big ballers...who manufactured his program.

I heard about them beating UCLA's win streak because it's iconic and ESPN pimped it as "the same thing." Athletes aren't genders, remember? Can that commercial die?

So that lasted like two minutes...and I forgot about it like most people...because nobody cared.

I had no idea UConn was up to like 111 wins or something. I knew they had bested "in a minor-league way" like the minor league guys who hit higher than Ted Williams...

Had no idea. The most famous women's team of all-time...had no idea they were up to that...

Maybe because I still watch sports and read a few news but stopped going to ESPN.com.

If a men's team had won 111 games in a row...holy shite. Holy Schnikes! If a men's team had beaten UCLA's winning streak - the sports world would have gone ape-shite.

UConn beating it was a blip...because most people were basically...what did they beat? That's not the same record. Are UConn women playing men's basketball? How do you beat a record when you play essentially a different sport?

Is winning the 400 meters in womens event now considered faster than Michael Johnson?

When Geno was struggling at UConn, ESPN put them on TV all the fricking time when nobody was watching ESPN.

You would see the champ game...UT vs. somebody, UT would win...and that would be it.

Suddenly this nothing of a program is on ESPN on all the time.

This is why Pat Summitt and Geno had issues. She was no fool. She knew he was backed by the most powerful sports network in America.

Geno and UConn aren't frauds...but it's hilarious the NCAA only investigates glad-handling and back-slapping and agents and a few bucks from boosters...

But doesn't give a shite about a billion dollar sports entertainment company pimping a program for their own financial benefit. That's crazy.

It just shows you in sports - you can cheat big and move on - cheat small and you get busted. NCAA cracked down on college football programs for consorting with professionals or acting like professionals...hell they busted USC for a culture of to much exposure on TV and celebrities and professionalism...what the hell has UConn women's been? They are a WNBA team with ESPN's backing and money masquerading as a college team...

Just like lies...the bigger it is, the more people believe it.

Serious question.

Has a women's sports program ever been busted by the NCAA?

Because it seems like they don't even look at them...when laundering money is happening big time.

As Walter Byers, former head of the NCAA came to later admit...

"It's a billion dollar money-laundering scheme."

And ESPN has figured it out. Nobody is going to look for bodies in the daises.

They had issues because Geno is an arrogant jerk. Same reason he never got along with Calhoun (in contrast to most schools where the basketball coaches have a good relationship).

He slightly has a point. Pat and Geno already had many issues but they stopped playing because UCONN brought Maya Moore on a tour of ESPN during her recruiting visit when she said she was interested in mass comm. The NCAA charged them with a violation so that's where his paranoia is running wild.

Can you remember who ended UConns streak last time? Or the time before that?

As in most sports, most people won't remember too many details of a particular game or title except for the players involved and the team's super fans.
