I thought he just called her, but hasnt met with her.

But to me, nothing is clear on either side of this case. Which is why I dont think they can just drop it.

Something has to be clear if he's targeting early next week to decide what to do.

I dont think he'll meet her within that time. He's just going to get together with colleagues to see if they have enough to get a conviction.

I am convinced the girl dropped it because she knew she screwed up and someone that knew the story tipped off the media on their own

Or she got paid big $$$ to drop it. Enough money can make most things go away.

All the information he needs from her he can get on a phone call. He really doesn't have to talk to her because she doesn't have a say in whether charges are filed or not. Her story has been told, it was told the night of the incident and the following weeks/months after

ETA: the only thing of importance she can say now is that she lied about the rape

Yea i know that. But the State Attorney usually will meet up with a supposed victim of a rape case. All i was saying is that from the legal side, the case is just getting started.

Like I said earlier in this thread, if he is not charged today he won't be charged. Meggs and his staff has seen all the evidence (pics included). If they saw something that even looked like an injury caused by rape they would have had the police arrest him this morning.

Meggs said today that he is not going to have a decision today and is waiting for more information, so....

Im not convinced of anything right now.

Too much weird shite has already come out with this case. I mean a twist comes out pretty much every day. And there are rumors upon rumors upon rumors... what is true?

He could be innocent. He could be guilty.

Just not convinced of anything right now.

There's going to be a lot to come out that makes just about every poster in this thread look retarded.

TBH, nothing you've claimed (that I recall) has been shown to be true to this point.

Additionally, just because there's a relationship afterwards doesn't mean that what happened wasn't rape. It will make it very unlikely to get a guilty verdict. I know women who married men who raped them, presumably to make some sort of stability of the chaotic psychological aftermath. To reiterate, a subsequent relationship will almost surely negate a rape charge. But it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - State Attorney Willie Meggs says there are still "four or five" things that still need to be done in the sexual assault case before a final decision is made on whether charges should be made against Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

Meggs said Friday that while prosecutors have interviewed the alleged victim that they have not wrapped up their investigation. Meggs did not provide any details of the interview with the woman.

ESPN reported earlier this week that Winston's DNA matched a sample taken from the underwear of the accuser.

Timothy Jansen, Winston's attorney, says his client voluntarily gave the sample last week but that a match does not mean his client raped the woman. He told reporters any sex was consensual before somewhat backtracking when pressed about his comment.

I wonder what those 4 or 5 things are..

This is weird. Did she consent to sex with JW and then was raped by the other players? It seems like an odd thing to backtrack on.

Eta: the fact that the media pressed him on this and he then backtracked means the media is getting warmer to breaking more details, IMO.

And yet another twist in this already bizarre case.

It doesnt look good for your attorney to already be backtracking on comments just a few days after he made his 1st public appearance / comments.

And if she was raped by other players, why was it just the DNA of Winston that was found?

I don't think that's what was said. It's newsworthy because it's Winston. I believe another person also submitted a DNA sample.
