I don't question the move. I question the 19 moves before that. Maddon was too cute by half managing the pen and had the decision to go to Chapman made for him, unfortunately. I understand that you have to take some of that with Maddon because he's great behind the switches.

I wouldn't have lifted Strop so quickly, I would have brought in Rendon to begin the 8th. I would have let him work out of the jam. What's the point of having, effectively, two closers if you are going to burn one willy-nilly.

When Strop has it going like he did last night, you really should ride him. He might come out today and not be able to find the strikezone. I expect Carl's Jr. will be used in a high leverage spot today. The kid has "it."
