scholarship benefits

Are unreal really. They give you a list of your assignments due that week and actively make a plan to have you done by Thursday.

I’d be a scientist at JPL had I had that.

Food, healthcare…you don’t even buy books, they schedule and take care of everything. The ‘dorm’ they make you live in as freshman is unreal.

Why would an athlete care about getting a scholarship over cash money?

That's irrational.

How is that irrational? Tell me what you would prefer

You can go somewhere where you can get free tuition/room and board/meal plans, and make NIL on top of that which you would get to keep for personal use

Or

Go somewhere where you make NIL but you have to pay your own tuition/room and board/meal plans, probably using up all of the NIL you make to pay for that

Also if you're an NIL donor, would you rather have to pay extra NIL to one player to cover those costs to keep them on the team or would you rather the school pay for it via scholarship so you don't have to? Keep in mind this player would be a bench player/depth piece that you're most likely just trying to prevent going to another team, presumably a conference rival because the best players/starters will still be on scholarship.

The math just isn't mathing here my guy.

He has full scholarship + NIL at other SEC schools so I just stare at the NIL only coaches with a blank look. We’ll be back, see what they say later.

He is a kicker. I cant imagine a 4 star position player willing to pass on legit D1 scholarship offers to go to a school as a walk-on knowing that school didn't consider them worthy of scholarship (i.e. their 26th choice of a typical recruiting cycle).

And why would a team instruct their NIL boosters/collectives to use their finite pool of NIL money on their 86th best/most important player? Again, I could see this playing out for kickers/punters as, you well know, a lot of them are asked to walk-on anyway.

Athletes are not going to accept a walk-on role b/c of NIL. They will choose the school that offers a scholarship spot along with NIL.

Maybe if they have a ton of NIL money.

But nobody is going to pay $200M a year to fill a roster.
