Couldn't agree more. As a casual fan in south Louisiana with no real team to follow, I couldn't be more grateful that NBC ramped up their coverage. I'll be getting NBC sports network soon... Olympics are coming as well

Another fricking year without at least a trip to the Cup Finals. fricking Sharks. They just looked dead during this series.

Kinda like rooting for the Saints and Astros all these years. Until 2009 for the Saints.

As a Caps fan, I have sympathy for the Sharks, as they are essentially the Western Conference version of the same team -- if the NHL actually enforced the rules in the playoffs, offense-oriented teams would have a shot at the Cup. But when refs swallow their whistles and "let them play", it disproportionately rewards physical teams who skate on the edge of legality (I'm looking at you, Bruins and Ducks).

It's not that the Sharks choke (though this team just looks old), it's that the NHL changes the rules on them in April. I don't think it's ana accident that both of those teams struggled in this regular season, when called penalties have dropped nearly 50%. Refs are starting to call the regular season like the playoffs, and it hurt both of those teams this season.

Amen to that, they just struggled all year it seemed. Hope we're not about to start the downward slide.
