Brady by far

The fact some people think it's "by far" is a surprising to me. Brees has a strong argument at being a better QB over the decade.

Mark Sanchez. Play of the decade by the Player of the Decade. The Butt Fumble.

JJ was very dominant for 3.5 years, but he's been hampered by injuries. And one of those dominant years was wasted on a Texans team that went 2-14 and he was seemingly the only player on the field that gave a crap at times.

Too many other players (including the obvious choice of Brady) were consistently great over the entire decade.

Lawrence Taylor vs. Montana in the 80s is probably a better debate.

JJ Watt has made first team All Pro 3 more times than Brady over the decade.

I'm no Watt fan, but he's got an excellent case despite the injuries.

And last I checked, Bruce Smith wasn't the Player of the 90s.

In 10 years, the casual fan won't even know who JJ Watt is. You can't say the same thing about Tom Brady.

And there are more people out there who know who OBJ is than who Aaron Donald is. By no means should fame be a barometer for how good a player is.

Only if you're a Saints fan.

Brees has the numbers but he has absolutely no hardware.

I thought this thread wouldn't be as biased to the QBs as it's been.

Gronk, Watt, hell, even Keuchly have a case.

Watt and Keuchly are tied for the most all pro teams in the decade.

Same amount of AP Offensive Player of the Year awards as Brady or Rodgers.

Regardless, I don't actually think the answer is a QB.

But no NFL MVPs or 1st Team All-Pro selections.

You g00bs keep on bringing up defensive players and yet fail to realize that a defensive player has absolutely no chance at winning the award.

The best chance a defensive player ever had to winning Player of the Decade was LT and he lost out to Joe Montana.

A quirk of the system really. Offensive POY but not first team all pro? That's ridiculous.

Right. The answer is probably Tyron Smith if we're being honest here.

I'm not asking who wins the actual award - I'm asking who was the best player in the NFL the last decade.

It's funny how this board does their best to belittle Brady's accomplishments by coming up with off the wall choices such as JJ Watt and Drew Brees ( ) for player of the decade.

No, he doesn't. System qb with a 1-7 road playoff record says it all.
