That's true, but I don't have a problem with it. It's a historical honorarium not a "who would you take" hypothetical.
The game has evolved a lot over the years. They played one platoon football back in Sammy Baugh's day. In order to play QB you had to run out of the wing T, and you had to punt and you had switch over and play safety. Those guys were rag dolls that never got to leave the field.
Now quarterbacks have communication devices in helmets, statisticians, computer algorythms, coaches, film analysts, trainers and nutritionists working as an entire support network to do one thing and one thing only - improve their passing efficiency.
You can't ignore eras and you can't compare them. Agreeing with the list doesn't mean you think Sammy Baugh was more talented than A. Rodgers, it just means they earned the honor based on the circumstances that existed when they played.
