Lutcher came into the game with 2 players that had over 1000 yards rushing. They should have been able to run the ball.

Lutcher is a spread team that passes and uses the threat of the pass to open up their running game. With the weather negating their passing game all Neville had to do was stack the box and Lutcher was finished.

Isn't the Lutcher QB Cory Webster's brother?

No. But from what someone said earlier word is that his future is baseball.

So what. Neville ran out of the spread all night and can throw it around a little bit as well.

I didn't go to the game. (I froze rain in Joe Yenni watching St. Charles once again try in vain to match up with JCC).

But I wonder if it might not have been something as simple as Neville having better cleats for muddy fields. Lutcher's field is real grass, not turf. I'd hope both teams had special mud spikes/cleats but from asking around town I'm not sure Lutcher did.

I watched the whole game. Lutcher must have had 20 turnovers. Neville was better in those conditions. The game was pathetic.

Are you not comprehending what I'm saying. Lutcher is a speed team that opens up its running game from the pass. The sloppy field took away the pass and neutralized their speed. When forced to be one dimensional they were done.

yea.. that still doesnt matter.. Neville was actually more one dimensional, not even attempting a pass..

i dont really know much about either team, but 42-0, in your own house, pretty much sounds like you just ran into a much better team..

Did I say otherwise? Neville came in and did what they needed to do. Lutcher has struggled against the run and Neville came in and run it down their throat. He just asked about Lutcher's running threat and I answered his question.

I know exactly what your saying. Neville played in the same conditions. Burch can throw the ball 60 yards but he didn't have to. Neville has speed to but I guess our speed wasn't neutralized. #25 for Neville has the state's best single game recieving performance this year and it was against a much better defense than Lutcher's. For the record Neville never stacked the box because Lutcher was still running 3 and 4 WR sets. They just got their arse whipped at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. A dry field would have helped Neville as well.

I'm one of the Bulldog boasters from weeks past...and still very proud of my Lutcher Bulldogs!
Congratulations to Neville-ya'll were awesome. Yes, we ran into a buzz saw- and I know both teams had to play in the same conditions but we would have seen a more entertaining game on a dry field. Not saying we would have won, but it would have been closer due to our aerial attack and pass defense.
Good luck to the Tigers and I'm sure we'll see ya'll down the road in years to come.
Go Dawgs, too!

i was at the game and it was the coldest i have ever been. i will say that i think it would have been a better game on a dry field, but neville is the better team. they totally dominated lutcher from the first whistle no ands, ifs, or buts about it. neville has played on a wet field all but one game this year and i said earlier in the week it would play to their favor, as it did.
But i must say i was disappointed in luthcer...ive heard all year how they were the best team in any class and i know that the field conditions didnt help, but they are NOT the best team in the state, much less 4A. Neville's running game was awesome. rico pollard and the qb burch really impressed me. they were really patient runners that waited on the play to develop like you rarely see at the hs level

The old saying is that Neville doesn't lose in the rain. I guess it held true. Lutcher totally abandoned the passing game after those 2 interceptions. Neville was leaving receivers uncovered in the 3rd quarter and was playing the run, b/c they knew Lutcher wouldn't pass.
