i'm not arguing that they were a quality team last year
Well you certainly aren't giving them a lot of credit for building their program, because "they're just a non-BCS school."

You're telling me that every time a player tries to take a charge, but a block is called, it's a flop?
no i'm saying that you either are guilty of a blocking foul or a charge
if you take a charge you need to be 100% set prior to the offensive player coming in your area and not be under the goal
if you're not set, you fouled the offensive player

I bet that coon arse would drink Barkley under the table.

may be a problem for you, but i guarantee the NCAA makes a lot more money and gets a lot more attention with the current format than they would with ur proposed format. and it has basically been 1 and 2 seeds in the final four every year. ur just mad because u don't like Butler

you can't have a charge and a block in the same possession
But you can still fall if your not set... You can legitimately fall and still get a foul called on you.
And I don't see why so many people are complaining about the 2nd charge call. They said he pushed off, which he clearly did. Ref's never said the defender was set

I agree. But my original point was that the first charge wasn't a flop. Which is really irrelevant, but I was just defending the Butler flopping criticism.

I'd have to agree...but Chuck could hold his own in the comments challenge.

what if it's an obvious elbow into the defender even if he isn't completely set?

well if that's all that matters...

i'm a huge proponent of the BCS conferences in football, but in basketball it really doesn't matter. too much parity and basketball is too unpredictable of a sport, thats why you have to win 6 games to win the title. its hard to be incredibly lucky against good teams for 6 games in a row

Some people don't understand the rules.
It was a flop, but I have no problem with that being called a charge.

if refs are letting guys flop, any drive where a guy lowers his head will be a charge

Good. The more Marshall the better. Get Smith out.

Is it just me or is the game hard to watch?

then why has the product gotten so shitty, only to get shittier every year?
and why not make schools produce their own revenue like in football?
