I had a feeling the Zags didn’t have enough left in the tank after that UCLA... it showed.

When I saw the Zags struggling that hard with UCLA in the first place I got the feeling this was coming. Houston was getting dissected by Baylor and they were athletic and could play defense. Baylor started dismantling the Zags at the opening tip-off. No excuse, other than they weren't close to matching up with the best team in basketball this season.

Correct........ the Zags didn’t know what hit them in the first 8-9 mins..... and then couldn’t catch their breath... the two early fouls on Suggs didn’t help but deep down I don’t think it would have mattered......

For me, the ucla game exposed Gonzaga’s defensive weaknesses. I figured Baylor would have success on offense.

I was a bit surprised how easily Baylor’s defense rattled Gonzaga, however.

The speed and physicality were day and night different. My guess is that Baylor also saw the UCLA tape and knew they could exploit this team defensively. Baylor looked like racehorses out there.

They forced do many turnovers in the first half... that’s when I knew zags were in trouble. And it seemed like Baylor got every offensive rebound.....

Watching Baylor closely all tournament and then watching GONZ v UCLA game I felt Baylor ran a similar defense to UCLA but better, more nuanced and faster and man...did they show it!

Grats Bears! Thank you for all the A&M melts you’ve provided.

Mark Few only makes 1.9M per year.

Gotta respect him for that.

Gonzaga looked gassed the second play started. UCLA took it out of them. Would love to see another matchup between the two.
