It sucks, but you can’t put them in that position

You don't have to.

If their injury results in play stoppage, they are our for the remainder of that series (and if it's in the last play of that series [unlikely] they're our for the next one.

If they're really injured, it won't matter. If they're faking, it's a penalty.

There are countless ways to go about this without saying so and so is a liar. Make the player sit out the rest of the drive and the next one for any injury.

I don't know what the correct length of time is, but soccer has implemented something like to at least try and prevent faking injuries/flopping. The rule is basically if you are on the ground long enough that the trainers/medical staff have to come out to you that you have to be on the sideline for X amount of time. There are obviously no set possessions in soccer so the player just stands and waits on the sideline until the ref tells him he can come back on, but I do think forcing a player to sit out for X time if the trainers have to come get him is reasonable.

Yeah a set number of plays or change of possession. We already require them to go out for a play, what’s so difficult about adding 2-3 more?

They didnt fix anything.

All a coach has to do is run someone out late, to sub the closest DB to them, and make sure he doesnt get off the field in time

If you’re injured enough you have to go down on the field then you miss the rest of the drive.

No they did. Part of the loophole was that Oregon had the benefit of an extra player on the field during the play to ensure no meaningful yards were gained.

Rules should be changed AFTER THE SEAON, not during. Why not change the stupid rules that have to stupid refs running the ball back to the line where the defense can't sub? Its single handedly destroyed CFB to the point is not worth watching..

Star QB gets up limping after a play, now has to sit out the final drive because of this rule you’ve created

Is there really a concern of offensive players faking injuries? I'm pretty sure the majority of the potential fake injuries are on the defense trying to slow down the hurry up offense.

Ole Miss has done it offensively. Point stands if you say star DB instead of QB

Regardless it’s not about him faking it, it’s about him being shaken up but ready to go in a play or two but not being eligible in this hypothetical bc you’re trying to avoid fake injuries with this rule

Then make a snap count requirement. If he’s injured, coming back on the same drive is ridiculous.

After the game is over you review all injuries. Those deemed fake by the panel ends up with a $350,000 fine for the head coach

The fine doubles for every subsequent infraction

The fake injuries would end quickly

If we're changing rules mid-season, then go back to the old clock rules. New rules suck.

Interesting to say this after LSU played an almost 4 hour game in regulation, over 4 hours with OT.

This doesn’t fix anything. Run 12 out…. Pretend to have guy “try” to get off field at the last second

Do you somehow think that the new time rules are the reason lsu won?
