The NBPA player rep vote has completed, approving a December 22 start/72-game regular season, source tells ESPN. Next up: NBA/NBPA finishes financial terms on amended CBA, which will take into next week. Expect trade moratorium to be lifted shortly prior to Nov. 18 Draft.

So we are likely to see:

Nov 16 trade moratorium lifted
Nov 18 draft
Nov 20 Free Agency begins

Dec 1st Training Camp

That week in November is going to be wild.

Damn, that is a short break for the NBA. What is the normal length of the offseason?

Finals are over in June and the practices camps are Sept/October. Season start around Halloween.

Meh, won't be watching. Aside from BLM/wokeness, the NBA simply blows.

They also had 4 months off in 2020.

I always thought the NBA should start Dec 25 and end in early to mid August.

The NBA shouldn’t try to compete with the NFL and the MLB isn’t entertaining enough to be the stand alone sport for three full months.

If two sports should be playing at the same time, let it be the NBA and MLB. Let the NFL have November and the majority of December all to itself.

They will eventually want to get back to 82 games so they will likely start Dec 1 in the future or thereabouts

Basketball is and always has been my favorite sport (to play), but I actually agree. After the Pelicans left the bubble I didn’t watch a single game. I wasn’t protesting or deliberately not watching, it just never pulled me in.

When would the playoffs start?

This depend on if fans are allowed in arenas by May, but my plans are to go to see the Twins play the White Sox on May 17. I wouldn't mind going to a Timberwolves or Wild game while there.

Pick the Wild. Way more entertaining product and significantly better venue
