This weekend is one of the greater times for NBA purists. Not only does free agency start on Friday, the NBA Summer League starts up on Saturday. It's a time for rookies, younger NBA players and guys we started to forget about a chance to shine and give fans a glimpse of some of the lesser-known prospects.

I love it due to being a huge college basketball fan and just an overall NBA fan in general, but I know I'm not the only one (Looking at you RTR). And like with every year, I always put together a preview of players to watch on each team, so here we go:

ORLANDO SUMMER LEAGUE (JULY 2-8)
Schedule

Charlotte Hornets:
Roster
LSU fans will immediately find interest in Orlando as Tim Quarterman is on the Hornets roster. Aaron Harrison averaged 17.6 ppg in the D-League, but only shot 36% from the field. He will have to improve on that if he wants NBA minutes. Ohio State is fairly well represented with the athletic Sam Thompson and DeShaun Thomas. Gabe York out of Arizona can pull off some highlights.

Dallas Mavericks:
Roster
If you want to watch possibly the slowest player in NBA history, have no fear the Mavs have you covered with Satnam Singh. He's tall, that's about it. I've always been a huge fan of Cory Jefferson because I though he was a mini Dwight Howard. He hasn't panned out, but with a lot of holes on the Mavs roster, he has a shot. Marquis Teague is the one point guard that has struggled from the Calipari era at Kentucky and is likely on his last rope. Vander Blue averaged 26.3 ppg in the D-Legaue last year. Brandon Ashley got bad advice and left Arizona way too early, and will likely spend another season in the minors.

Detroit Pistons:
Roster
One of the better teams in Orlando, the Pistons are highlighted by Stanley Johnson and 2016 first rounder Henry Ellenson. Johnson had a very solid rookie campaign, and will look to improve on his shooting to garner more minutes. Ellenson may be the best big man compliment to Drummond and will showcase his three-point range. I'm a huge fan of Lorenzo Browndue to his size and creativity at point guard. Second rounder Michael Gbinije can shoot the three and with Meeks being traded, there may be a spot on the bench for a specialist.

Indiana Pacers:
Roster
Both Glenn Robinson III and Joe Young can fill up a scoresheet and will likely be showing their skillset in order to secure a bench spot. Georges Niang is an entertaining player with his ability to do a little bit of everything. Little upset that Myles Turner was left off the roster, but after becoming the starting center of a now-solid starting five, no need to risk injury.

Los Angeles Clippers:
Roster
Brice Johnson becomes the newest member of Lob City and will be another target of Chris Paul's alley-oops. Johnson was a double-double machine at UNC and will likely do the same in Orlando. The Clippers may have gotten a second-round steal in Diamond Stone, who is a little raw but has good athleticism with his 7'0" frame. David Michineau may surprise some with his speed and athleticism to go with his 6'3 frame at point guard. Branden Dawson is another one I like and can put up good numbers in the Summer League due to his high energy motor.

Miami Heat:
Roster
Justise Winslow highlights this squad and was pretty strong on the defensive side for the Heat in his rookie campaign. Look for him to focus on his offense in Orlando. Josh Richardson will be sure to find his way on the highlight reel in the coming days after throwing down some monstrous dunks last season. Norvel Pelle is another guy I like with his athleticism and size and has had an interesting path, but is running out of chances. Briante Webber could find NBA minutes due to his play on the defensive end.

New York Knicks:
Roster
Cleanthony Early had a good bit of hype coming into the NBA, but he has saw his minutes cut in half last year. Without a team right now, consider this an open audition. JP Tokoto is always a highlight waiting to happen, but is very raw skill-wise after leaving early from North Carolina. Ron Baker teams with Shockers teammate Early once again and Baker can be a good shooter for the Knicks. Ognjen Kuzmic is a big guy down low, but the overseas player will need some refinement to his game.

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Roster
Cameron Payne could definitely benefit the most from this time. While there's not many minutes he could gain from last season, but he could entice himself to other teams. Mitch McGarycould find some significant minutes with the Thunder sending Serge Ibaka to Orlando. He dominated last summer and will need to again. Daniel Hamilton was one of my favorite college players last year, but will likely find himself on the D-League. Dakari Johnson will likely get a lot of minutes and a chance to showcase away from the crowded Kentucky years. And Max Hooper, we all know what he's going to do, shoot threes. Unfortunately, Domantas Sabonisis representing Lithuania in the Olympics and won't be on the team

Orlando Magic Blue:
Roster
Stephen Zimmerman was the Magic's only 2016 selection due to the Serge Ibaka trade, but the athletic big is very raw, but this is a good opportunity to expand his game. A knee injury to Alex Poythress caused him to get lost in the shuffle at Kentucky, but he'll have a chance to show his full ability. Nick Johnson has seen playoff minutes with the Rockets, and is always good for a highlight or two. Tyler Harvey can shoot and will likely be filling up the scoresheet.

Orlando Magic White:
Roster
Being the host team gets the Magic two teams, but you can seriously ignore this squad. I really can't find anyone of importance, so this would be a good time to go get some food, let the dogs outside or find anything else to do when they are on the court.

UTAH SUMMER LEAGUE (JULY 4-7)
Schedule

Boston Celtics:
Roster
With a bevy of draft picks the last few years, it comes as no surprise the Celtics have one of the most loaded rosters. Jaylen Brown is obviously the headliner of the team. I like Brown and think he will find that ceiling under Stevens. Terry Roziercould find time at point guard, but he needs to add refinement to his athleticism. R.J. Hunterneeds to become more consistent with his shot, so expect to see a good bit of that. Despite being in the league two years, James Young is still one of the younger players, but even though he averaged 15.3 ppg in the D-League, he needs to start showing a lot more improvement if he wants to stick around. Jordan Mickey averaged a double-double in the D-League to go along with 4.4 bpg, and with Stevens' emphasis on defense, Mickey can gain serious NBA minutes with some experience. Guerschon Yabusele is an intriguing foreign prospect, but could find himself overseas with the depth Boston currently has.

Philadelphia 76ers:
Roster
We all know who everyone will be watching. Ben Simmons is not playing for Australia, so he will be a part of the 76ers team. We all know what he can do, but it will be interesting to see if he starts working on his jumper. Unfortunately, Simmons won't have much help. Christian Wood put up some good numbers in the D-League, but he is very raw. I liked Alex Caruso at A&M and he can do a little bit of everything, so it will be interesting to see him with Simmons. Maybe Timothe Luwawu's girlfriend will be in attendance after stealing the NBA Draft.

San Antonio Spurs:
Roster
While they aren't loaded with talent, the Spurs have three of my favorite players. Kyle Anderson is not the fastest guys in the world, but he is very smooth and has great vision, along with being a Summer League MVP last year. Jonathan Holmes made a name for himself last year, and the athletic wing is sure to make it on some highlights. The Spurs went back to the American pool for their first round in Dejounte Murray, who I liked at Washington and could be an instant impact guy off the bench with Ginobili not getting any younger. Bryn Forbes can shoot the three and could find that role off the bench for the Spurs if he has a good showing.

Utah Jazz:
Roster
Trey Lyleswas a man without a true position last year and will need to work on becoming a more refined player to gain more playing time, despite playing in 80 games. Marcus Paige is a good candidate to be the backup point guard in Utah due to his long experience at North Carolina, so he will just need to show he can do it at the next level. We all love the gritty, rosy-cheeked Aaron Craft, but it remains to be seen if he can make it to the next level. Tyrone Wallace failed to do much with that talented Cal team last year, but he can be one that can put up big numbers in the D-League next year.

LAS VEGAS (JULY 8-JULY 18)

Schedule (At Bottom)

Atlanta Hawks:
Roster
The Hawks will be led by Taurean Prince, who was acquired in the Jeff Teague trade. Prince could be vying for a starting spot or significant minutes, and we at least know he knows how to rebound. Edy Tavares has a lot of size and can gain minutes behind Dwight and Millsap. Brandon Ashleyhas been playing with the Dallas team in Orlando, so he will get another chance to make an impression.

Brooklyn Nets:
Roster
Both Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Chris McCullough have a lot of talent and saw decent playing time last season, but will need to refine their games if they want to hold onto those minutes. I was a big fan of Isaiah Whitehead last year at Seton Hall and he should be able to light up the score sheet. Yogi Ferrell can be a good point guard, but he will need to play under control at the next level.

Chicago Bulls:
Roster
Chicago has a talented roster and it starts with Bobby Portis and first-round pick Denzel Valentine. Portis put up good numbers in his 17.8 mpg, and with the departure of Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah, there are more minutes for the taking down low. Valentine was a triple-double threat every game at Michigan State, but he will find himself backing up Rajon Rondo following the trade of Derrick Rose. Jerian Grant came over in the Rose trade, and will likely be competing with Valentine for backcourt minutes. Dez Wells can score and is good for a highlight or two each game.

Cleveland Cavaliers:
Roster
There isn't too much here, but hey, they won the title, so this isn't much of a thought for them. Kay Felder is like a Nate Robinson but with better passing. He is an athletic, albeit short, point guard who could possibly back up Irving. I've always been a huge fan of Cory Jefferson because I though he was a mini Dwight Howard, but he is running out of opportunities to make an impression. DeAndre Liggins is still hanging around, but the time is running out for the former Kentucky Wildcat.

Dallas Mavericks:
Roster
Justin Anderson will be looking to garner more minutes off the bench and has good athleticism and defense. His opportunity at starting was shut down with the signing of Harrison Barnes. A.J. Hammons has center size that isn't too common in the NBA anymore and has a very good shot at backing up Andrew Bogut in the NBA. Perry Ellis was a double-double machine at Kansas, and has a good chance to make the roster due to his energy and number of open roster spots.

Denver Nuggets:
Roster
Another team with a solid roster, the Nuggets are led by Emmanuel Mudiay, who had a very solid rookie campaign. If he can work on limiting his turnovers and slowing the game down more, he will be able to dominate. The Nuggets needed a spark off the bench and got that in first-rounder Jamal Murray, who is a bonafide scorer and will be giving his Summer League teammate a run for his money to start at shooting guard. Gary Harris had a solid season last year, but he will be looking over his shoulder at Murray, the No. 7 pick, to earn that spot at shooting guard. As if Murray wasn't enough shooting, Jimmer Fredette is back in the Summer League to give you more. Malik Beasley formed a solid tandem at Florida State with Dwayne Bacon, but will be pressed to find minutes in Vegas.

Golden State Warriors:
Roster
The spotlight will be on Damian Jones. With the uncertainty of Anderson Varejao's health season to season, Jones may be needed to provide minutes down low with the Warriors bench still looking to be filled out. Two veterans will be looking to find a roster spot in Landry Fields and Xavier Henry. Fields has completely disappeared since his two years with the Knicks, and Henry was in the D-League last year. Mamadou Ndiayeis massive at 7'6" and 300 pounds, and with a good summer, could possibly find some NBA time, but expect a trip to the D-League. Patrick McCaw can light up a score sheet and has a lot of confidence in his shot.

Houston Rockets:
Roster
Houston is LOADED with talent and it starts with likely Vegas League MVP Michael Beasley. How the 8-year veteran is allowed to play is beyond me, but he will be fun to watch. K.J. Harrell and Montrezl Harrell will be good for some highlights, and both will be looking to garner NBA minutes. Sam Dekker barely played in the D-League in his rookie campaign, so he will need this to further improve his all-around game. The son of the glove, Gary Payton II boasts the defense, albeit not as solid obviously, as his dad, but comes in a 6'5" frame and can score. Chris Walkerhas a ton of athleticism, but a tumultuous career so far will likely have him in the D-League this year. Kyle Wiltjer can light up the nets and could find himself some bench minutes behind someone a lot like him in Ryan Anderson. Finally, you have the underhand free throw shooting Chinanu Onuaku on the squad.

Los Angeles Lakers:
Roster
The Lakers may have the best trio in Vegas. Brandon Ingram will have the spotlight on him as the No. 2 selection and will be relied on to pick up a lot of the scoring in the NBA. D'Angelo Russell *insert cell phone/Snapchat joke here* had a solid rookie campaign, shooting well from beyond the arc as well, and will be looking to boost up his assist numbers with the black hole Kobe Bryant retired and Warriors protege Luke Walton at the helm. Larry Nance Jr. is in line for more minutes this coming season and is a highlight waiting to happen. Zach Auguste can find himself at the end of the NBA bench to his length and athleticism down low.

Miami Heat:

Milwaukee Bucks:
Roster
The 19-23 year old Thon Maker will be one of the spotlights in Vegas. At 7'0", Maker has drawn Kevin Garnett comparisons due to his ability, shooting, and insane athleticism for his size. Regarded as a shooter out of UNLV, Rashad Vaughn will have to improve his three-point shooting at this level if he doesn't want to find himself in the D-League. Prince Ibeh has a lot of athleticism for his 6'10" frame, something that has become commonplace with the Bucks recently (see Maker and Greek Freak). Malcolm Brogdon is far from the flashiest player, but he shoots well, plays defense and gets the job done.

Memphis Grizzlies:
Roster
JaMychal Green will spend another season behind the tutelage of Zach Randolph, but saw 15 starts last season, where he averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds. Wade Baldwin IV was a solid combo point guard at Vanderbilt, even shooting above 40% from beyond the arc. Deyonta Davis might have received bad NBA Draft advice and will likely be in the D-League, but Davis has a lot of athleticism. Not sure why Jarrel Martin is not playing in the Summer League, but maybe RTR can fill me in there. Finally, D.J. Stephens will be there and you will be sure to find him in at least one Top 10 during his time in Vegas, mark it down.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Roster
Kris Dunn is already in the good graces of new coach Tom Thibodeau, and will look to cement his spot as starting point guard and make Ricky Rubio even more expendable. Tyus Jones will be hoping that Rubio gets dealt otherwise his NBA minutes will be rare this coming season. At only 20, Jones will need to continue refining his game to find those minutes. Adreian Payne is a big with the ability to shoot from three, but will have to improve on that percentage if he wants more minutes.

NBA D-League Select
Roster
Really not much to this roster outside of Quinn Cook and Tu Holloway. They should be an easy win for a lot of these teams.

New Orleans Pelicans:
Roster
A lot on this website will be watching this team for one reason and one reason only: Buddy Hield. Something the Pelicans badly needed, Hield brings shooting and a scorer's mentality that is needed to alleviate pressure from Anthony Davis. Cheick Diallo was another that received bad Draft advice and will probably get more minutes here in Vegas than he did during his whole time at Kansas. Diallo has a lot of athleticism, but is very raw. Anthony "Cat" Barber is one of the quicker point guards in this class and should be able to create a lot of open shots for Hield.

Philadelphia 76ers:
Roster
We all know who everyone will be watching. Ben Simmons is not playing for Australia, so he will be a part of the 76ers team. We all know what he can do, but it will be interesting to see if he starts working on his jumper. A cramp in the first game in Utah may make the coaches a little cautious on how much he plays in Vegas.

Phoenix Suns:
Roster
Dragan Bender will be one of the more intriguing prospects in Vegas. He put up far from impressive numbers overseas, but this will be his chance to get significant minutes to show his ability that has been compared to Kristaps Porzingis. Devin Booker can light up the nets and will be looking to become more of a complete offensive player. The Suns used their second 2016 top-ten pick on Marquese Chriss, who has a lot of talent for his size, but will need to improve on defense and his rebounding. Tyler Ulis joins a Suns backcourt of now five Kentucky wildcats, and is a solid distributor despite his small size.

Portland Trail Blazers:
Roster
There's not too much on this squad, but Noah Vonleh will need this league to further improve if he wants to see significant minutes. Still at 20, he has time and is entering his second season with Portland. The Trail Blazers like the Pelicans' D-League point guards with both Pierre Jackson and Russ Smith on the team. They are very similar scoring-first point guards with Jackson getting the slight edge. Cliff Alexander has been a headcase, but still has time to put his strong frame to good use. LSU fans will recognize Chris Johnson, who was in Puerto Rico last season.

Sacramento Kings:
Roster
The Kings boast a lot of length and athleticism, starting with former Kentucky bigs Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere. Those two will be guarding that rim in Vegas together, while Labissiere will be looking to show the ability he wasn't able to showcase at Kentucky. The Kings used their lottery selection on Georgios Papagiannis after trading down to 13, another big who will be in the Kings rotation, especially with his 7'1" frame. Malachi Richardson wasn't initially on the roster, but with his trade finalized today, he may become a late addition and is a raw scorer with solid three-point range. While he may not get much time, Derrick Jones out of UNLV can put together a highlight dunk or two. Finally, Ricky Ledo has been one of my favorite prospects since the Mavs took him in 2013, and while he has been able to light up the score sheets in the D-League, his game just hasn't transitioned to the NBA yet.

Toronto Raptors:
Roster
Norman Powell came up big for the Raptors late in the season and into the postseason. His athleticism and defensive ability was integral, as Powell will look to further the rest of his game. The Raptors' 2015 first round pick, Delon Wright put up solid numbers in the D-League last season and has a great all-around game with a 6'5" frame. He could possibly find more NBA minutes. Bruno Caboclo was doomed from the start when he first was getting Kevin Durant comparisons. He put up good scoring numbers in the D-League, but he will have to continue to improve his game if he wants any NBA minutes. With the departure of Bismack Biyombo, No. 9 pick Jakob Poetl has a good chance at earning the backup minutes behind Jonas Valanciunas. Poetl has good athleticism for his 7'1" frame.Pascal Siakim went from 190 pounds at the start of his college career at NMSU to becoming a 6'10" 227-pound forawrd that averaged a double-double last year.

Utah Jazz:

Washington Wizards
Roster
Kelly Oubre Jr. is the highlight of the team and has a ton of talent, but will need to improve on his scoring ability in order to gain any sort of meaningful NBA minutes. There's not much else on this squad that will see NBA time, but there are some good players. Danuel House and Sheldon McClellan were both solid scorers in college at Texas A&M and Miami respectively. Daniel Ochefuplayed an integral role in Villanova winning the title. Kaleb Tarczewski had a lot of potential going into Arizona but wound up going undrafted.

Gavin Ware from Mississippi State is on the Orlando Blue roster.

He's a little short to be a four in the league, but he can bang and rebound and score. There's no reason he can't make an NBA roster. Festus Ezeli-type skillset, just not the same size.

Stephen Zimmerman

Could be a steal. UNLV was a total shitshow, firing their coach half-way through the season.

That UNLV team severely underachieved. I thought they should have been playing in March, which would've gotten Zimmerman some more air time
