OKC has been the heavy favorite to sign him for months.

Of course they're the favorite, but ESPN is pretty much confining it's happening on the base of a "friend" telling a reporter

With Lakers announcing Jordan Clarkson is now a restricted free agent, something to watch for: Philly possibly coming with an offer sheet.

The potentially tricky part? Because Clarkson would fall under the "(Gilbert) Arenas provision," the structure could be brutal for Lakers.

Sixers (or others) would offer deal where Years No. 3 and 4 were MUCH bigger than 1-2. Enough to make them think about cap monkey wrench.

Sixers going for a poison pill?
Posted on 6/30/16 at 7:37 pm to TheDarrell McSteal
Couldn't that work out well for the Lakers? Would keep their cap really low for 2 years while they go after FAs

When you try to beat Woj to a story, you're going to have to do guess work

Sources on @TheVertical. Dallas Mavericks emerging as a frontrunner for Miami free agent center Hassan Whiteside. Heat's lost ground on him.

Pat reily getting the final meeting on Sunday has to make teams a bit nervous. Only closers get coffee

Al Horford is now following Jeff Bower on Twitter

The thing with being a young team, that if they develop like they are suppose to, then the lakers will have to pay up, so by yrs 3-4 of Clarkson deal being escalated, it will hinder signing our other young guys.
The other way would be ideal, cuz we aint getting no one worth a damn

it's ovbious as day whiteside wants as much money as possible. his 2 finalists are in states with no state tax lol. the "Lost ground" is nothing more than riley not offering the full max becuase he fricking can't becuase of wade and bosh. there is no situation where whiteside takes less than the full max you're wasting your time heat fans

Because we've had so much success with that
From what I've read, Clarkson's salary could spike to over $20M per in years 3 and 4 if Philly did this. It would help in the short term but I am not sure if he will be worth that kind of cap hit. That's a lot of money for a guy that I'm not too sold on being a long term piece

If Philly wants Clarkson that bad, maybe they could work out a sign and trade for Noel?

Unreal, this FA is about to blow up in the Lakers faces if Philly offers this deal
Posted on 6/30/16 at 7:52 pm to TheDarrell McSteal
the thing is the lakers have to go out and get some free agents., the sixers really don't., they can poison pill everyone they want lol frick it they got their roster in place already
Posted on 6/30/16 at 7:52 pm to TheDarrell McSteal
I would be all in on that too. We can easily get a 2 guard in FA,

I was wondering earlier wtf Whiteside saw in Dallas that he didn't with the Lakers. Yes, Cuban is an awesome owner but they have zero good young pieces and a zombie Dirk. The Lakers have sucked but at least we have some potential stars on the team.
Then it hit me that California has the highest tax in the league while Texas has none. Haha should've known this shite would happen with Whiteside

get clarkson and barnes FA, i would pass on getting a 2 as i really like the 2 SG's they drafted this year see how they work out, if they need another next year come bcak in 2017 and get a 2nd tier SG to round out the roster
