His legs are gone man. Is what it is. And it ain't about him being bad just last season. We know you dont look at numbers that don't support your arguments but hes been league average if not worse from 3 ever since his knee surgery.

Take your l and go home.

he is great in that ryno role. I.e. not finishing games. Filling up the score board. That’s the role he has with CC. The low iq fans are the one who think he makes your sqaud worse with his mere presence. cancer, etx etx. Stuff like that. Melo always been known as a good teammate.

Melo has never once played the Ryno role. He's spent the last 15 years as a ball stopping iso scorer.

Now, 15 years in, he has to change his game to a secondary catch and shoot guy. Good luck. This also leaves out that he is a defensive downgrade by default.

I think he could be serviceable but he's not the 3rd star. Capela and Gordon aren't stars but they put up star like numbers. Ariza looks like he is on his last legs. Check my history, I called for more Clint/Tucker, Green, EG, Harden & Paul lineups. I feel like our best lineup is when Paul, EG and James are all on the floor. EG actually lead the league in plus / minus and Harden, Paul and Tucker were top 5. Clint 12, Ariza 13. RPM EG is higher than Ariza (Paul and Harden lead the league).

Point is, Ariza older and replaceable. Morey knows that. Don't get me wrong, as of now we are not better, but the roster will be different come playoff time and with another year for most of these guys to gel I think Houston will be a better team. Maybe not record wise but when it matters.

Chris also has no legs. Yet managed to lead the league in RPM. FYI

Two completely different players and games and Chris Paul is about 100x the player melo ever is or was.

carm post a 18 and 20 per in two years before he had to go play w weatbrook. Safe to say he would be the best 7th man / ryno role in the league, by far, posting numbers like that.

Hahahhahahahahahhaa

Melo 3pt% in those two seasons 34% and 36%. But yeah hes way better than Ryno at the Ryno role. 18.5 fga to average 22pts a game. But his PER is 18 and 20 so yeah westbrook was the problem.

Ryno became extremely limited in the Rockets offense.

It got to a point where he couldn't even get a good 3-point shot off at times. Add that to his inability to play defense, and he was virtually useless on the floor.

And for some reason, he shot way worse from 3 at home than on the road:

2017: Home: 34% Road: 42%
2016: Home: 33% Road: 46%

Carmelo could be a much more versatile player than Ryan Anderson in the Rockets' offense. He increases the variance in the Rockets offense in ways that Anderson can't.

I don't know if it will work out with Carmelo, but I can envision a scenario where it does.

You are looking at merely three point %. Melo can create off the dribble, pass, and score at the rim much better than ryno. And I love ryno.

No he cant.

Melo

3-6 dribbles: 44.6%

Ryno

3-6 dribbles: 50%

Less than 10ft

Melo 60.6%

Ryno 64%

Every major shot category you can find will have Ryan ahead of Melo.

Create offf the dribble implies play making. Passing to teammates.

And finishing at the rim is not captured by a less than 10 foot stat doofus

0-3 ft in last 3 seasons.

Melo: 55.4%
Ryno: 55.6%

At the rim last year:

Melo: 57.3%
Ryno: 65.2%

Again. Ryan is better at the Ryno role than Melo.

You probably think the guy who goes 4-10 from three is better than they get who goes 39 for 100. You gotta look at quantity of shots too bro. Tbt I believe you still haven’t learned that much.

These stats are disingenuous. You have to look at their roles and the kinds of shots they are expected to take.

Ryan Anderson is taking shots at the rim if he’s completely wide open. He’s taking shots off the dribble if he has a very good look.
Carmelo, however, is expected to make shots that aren’t completely wide open.

It’s like you’re saying DeAndre Jordan is a better player than Hakeem Olajuwon because he has a higher field goal percentage.

You really don't know better. You keep saying Ryno role yet you want Melo to do more than what Ryan is asked to do. It's all the typical goal post moving for you bubba.

Ryno is a better 3 point shooter and defender at this point in his career than Melo. If you want to argue about other parts that's fine but that's not Ryan's role at all on this team.

Stretch 4 off the bench who comes in and scores some buckets for you. Not in the court when the game is decided ie Not in your finishing five. . That’s the ryno role. That’s what we envision for melo.

Hey if Melo earn more minutes then that he must have a more left in the tank than we thought. And we be glad to see him closing games. But he ain’t closing games unless he is better than the guys ion the bench. And if he is putting Gordon or tucker or one of them guys on the bench GOAT Is Going down and we will have a new GOAT come this time next year.
