What do most of the posters here think Wiggins' potential is?
I don't think he will be nearly as good as many evidently do here but I like him. I think he will be an above average to good (not very good) offensive player and a very good to great defender. I think he will be a borderline All Star, who is probably underrated because his D will be better than his offense.
He is a great fit in Cleveland where he won't be asked to be the primary option on O and can play great defense (and give Lebron a rest). I can't imagine a much better scenario for him. I also can't imagine a much worse scenario than Minnesota, where he will be asked to shoot a bunch and be a primary scorer for that team. But if Cleveland can get Love, I'd probably trade him too. Your job is to put the team in the best situation possible, not Wiggins.

So Kyrie with a huge extension, Lebron at 21M, and possibly Love?
Cleveland will be in the same situation Miami was in.

They have to find a third team to make this work..

Lebron/Wade/Bosh > Lebron/Kyrie/Love
Who the hell on teh Cavs will play defense? Theres no guarantee they even make the Conference Finals in the East, let alone the NBA Finals.

Flipping Dion/Bennett/and picks for a center makes the most long term sense imo

With Kyrie, Love, and LeBron?
Nothing is a sure thing but I think they would make it there relatively easy

Yea, that's not the deal though.

So you think his ceiling is Paul George?
That's pretty good

Two of those players have never been to the playoffs before. That type of thing matters. Who wins championships in this league? Old veteran teams.
Plus you have no idea how they would mesh.
The team also lacks any sort of rim protection. Kyrie and Love are both terrible defenders.

Kyrie has never been to the playoffs before. Same with Love. Neither can defend worth a shite.
Chicago and Indiana's cores have been together for multiple season, and have a ton of playoff experience.
Washington has a solid starting 5, and adding Paul Pierce will give them more ability to close games out, unlike they did vs. Indiana.
Then you have Toronto, Charlotte, and Brooklyn. All middle of the pack teams, but all have a bunch of talent.
Its not gonna be a cakewalk for Lebron like it has been these past few years. And he is on a worser team than he was before.

So? Does that mean the second trio can't win a championship?

I'm guessing you didn't realize Love and Bosh had the identical defensive rating last season. Kyrie wasn't that far behind Wade either.
Nothing is ever a guarantee but their chances increases exponentially.

It's plausible to believe that kyrie and Kevin's defense will improve now that they are actually on a good team and will care about winning and will have leadership.
But I agree. They would have a good shot at making the championship but not winning.
With or without Love

Pretty much my thoughts.

Hasn't Love been hurt the last 2 years?
Posted on 7/17/14 at 7:12 pm to papz
I'm not a fan of dumping in a 1000
's so I will save you the trouble, but to compare Kevin Love to Bosh defensively is hilarious.

Neither Kyrie or Love have ever had anyone to hold them accountable for their defense. They have always been the star on terrible teams. Not saying they will become elite defenders, but it really can't get much worse at the moment. I'm sure LeBron would be in their ear and noticeable improvement would be made.

Minnesotta started off last season very hot, Kevin Love still sucked defensively.
Cleveland made a serious push for the playoffs last season, he still sucked defensively.
Partly why those teams didn't make the playoffs.

Meanwhile Andrew 'Don't Trade Me' Wiggins comes out and scores a quick 8pts
